About
Simply put - I love taking and restoring photographs. While I may not have the decades of experience that many photographers have, I pride myself on only accepting jobs where I know that my knowledge and skills will allow me to provide a very comfortable, fun session resulting in photos my clients will love, without an exorbitant cost and with a quick turnaround. We all know that today’s phones take amazing photos. What those phones won’t do is put you in the best light, location, and pose to achieve results that will stand out amongst a sea of camera phone photos. I not only bring those skills to each photo shoot but also my years of photo editing expertise, allowing me to deliver final images (either digital or printed) that I am proud of and that will bring much joy to my clients for years to come.
I have been restoring photos for many years. It started with wanting to preserve the hundreds of photos and slides my Dad collected and took over the years. My family, that is spread around the world, were thrilled to be able to see all of those old photos again. I realized that what I was able to do for my family was a service that I could offer to a countless number of people that have shoeboxes or albums of photos that are degrading over time and not in a format that can be shared. I take pride in my meticulous treatment of the photos I digitize and restore. I also love teaching (my main gig) and offer an additional service of instruction on everything from taking better photos with your camera or phone to editing those photos and setting up an online gallery so those newly digitized, restored photos can easily be shared with family and friends.

They understood what I wanted done and it was done in a very timely manner. I would definitely come back to do business! :) The picture that was ripped now looks brand new. I'm very grateful.

David is a true professional. His work is high quality, and his finished photos are beautiful! He takes his time and his effort to get the best shot shows. He's kind, professional and has a ease in his way that makes you feel comfortable while being photographed. If you need a photographer for a wedding, engagement photos, any social event, or family portraits, DJW photography is the way to go!

My brother and I were going through old family photo's, some from the 20's. We had David digitalize them and we cannot believe how good they turned out. They are sharper than the originals and much clearer. We have more that we are going to have him digitalize. He was able to get them done quicker than we expected. If anyone is in his services I highly recommend him.

I own a bar/restaurant. David is my go to guy for photography. I do a charity golf tournament and Kentucky derby party every year. He takes beautiful pictures and is a perfectionist when it comes to his photos. He’s great to work with and very professional. I highly recommend him.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
While every job is different, I can pretty much guarantee you that my prices will come under my competition while providing results that I'll be proud to deliver and stand behind.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A meet & great either in person, Zoom or over the phone to find out all the details. Discussing what the customer expects (and when) allows me to know if I'm the right fit for their needs. Offering suggestions & alternate ideas will often cause the customer to rethink & revise their original request. And sometimes the revision will save the customer some money.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Like most in this business, my training is mix of books/manuals, on-line training, attending photography seminars & workshops, training under more experienced professionals & good ole self-taught training by doing & learning.
