- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes as an EA you have continuously strive to get continuing education as Tax laws and Accounting laws keep changing. I like to keep myself up to date on current laws regarding personal or business tax returns as well regarding accounting practices.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I loved math, so I decided to pursue my carrier in accounting and completed my Bachelors in Accounting from California State University, Hayward. I love how each client is unique in their own special way. Every return is a puzzle, and has no easy answer. Since I went in to accounting, I have always made sure to keep things interesting and constantly strive for knowledge and education. I try and learn something new every day and challenge myself, which tax allows for.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When it comes to working with a EA, you are in control. There are a variety of things you can do to get the most value out of your time and money spent with a EA. Before you even contact a EA, be prepared with your goals and objectives of what you want the EA to do for you. Have a list of questions and a clear idea of what you want to accomplish. Before you meet with a EA, gather all the documents and information you think you may need - past tax returns, current tax documents, and take this information with you to the first meeting. Keep your EA up-to-date on whatÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂs happening in your life. Are you getting married, divorced, having children, needing to plan for your childÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂs college education, expanding a business, or giving the business to an heir? YouÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂd be surprised what life experiences can have a significant impact on your tax liability and personal financial goals.
