FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I don't believe in complicated pricing systems, with different tiers for this or that. When you request a quote from me, it's for the whole ball of wax. One flat rate covers it all.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I stay on top of all the latest music industry trends and DJ software innovations by attending trade shows and local competitions.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I grew up listening to local radio stations like KROY, KFRC, KZAP, and KWOD. I remember standing outside the studios of KROY (on Arden Way in Sacramento, across from the old Lumberjack), where I would watch guys like Jack Hammer, Captain Rick Carroll, Dr. Tom Becker, Gene Lane, Terry Knight, and Donovan Blue do their shows. (They had a large window and an old drive-in movie speaker where you could interact with the DJs from the sidewalk outside.) In the 8th grade, I converted my parents' garage into my own "studio" where I would come home after school, face the speakers to the street, and do my own "broadcasts" to anyone within ear shot! By the time I was in high school, I was spinning records for a local roller skating rink and eventually, I got into radio. I spent nine years on the air, working for a variety of local stations including KROY's FM descendant, KSEG (The Eagle). Corporate politics (and the same tired playlists) tainted my love for radio, but I never stopped loving mixing the music. So I opened up my own mobile DJ business with a buddy of mine and have been doing it ever since.
