- What types of customers have you worked with?
The Music Machine DJs events of all types throughout the greater Sacramento. We've got DJ experience with every type of event, and we particularly love weddings. We also have a complete professional Karaoke system including multiple video screens, wireless microphones, and a huge song library. Our DJ is an experienced emcee who will keep your guests informed and entertained. Our DJ, Andy, started DJing as a hobby/business with his dad in 1990 when Andy was 12. Andy's 34 now and an accomplished public speaker who does not DJ for the money, but because he loves it.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Anybody with a DJ controller, laptop, speakers and a mic can DJ. If you want a club-like experience with nonstop beats and minimal communication with the crowd, go with somebody that's a DJ, with a cool DJ name. If you have an important event, with a detailed agenda, or you want to sell raffle tickets, or there are moments with a lot of sentimental value, you not only want a DJ, you want an emcee. You want somebody who cares, who is good with a crowd. Talk to your DJ. Get a feel for his personality. Is he gregarious and outgoing and easy to like and witty? Or is he awkward and quiet? Or is he outgoing, but corny and annoying, with a cheesy sense of humor? Whatever vibe you get when you talk to a DJ is likely to be what is going to come through the microphone. How interested is the DJ in telling you about his services versus listening to you explain your event? That level of concern is likely to be reflected when he's in action.
