Hi, my name is Gary Johnson, recognized By Many Golf Agencies As One Of The Best Golf Coaches In Northern California. I Am Former PGA Member/Player and Have Been Doing Golf Instruction For Over 40 Years. I Pride Myself In Staying Current With The Latest Technology And Equipment. I Built A Brand New State Of The Art Indoor 1200 Square Foot Studio In Land Park, Sacramento. I Use The New Sky Trak and EXputt Golf Simulators For Lessons. Our Introductory Lesson Will Be 45 Minutes To 1-Hour Long. I Use This Lesson To See How We Get Along And See If Your Liking What I Can Do For You. The fee for this lesson is $70, I May Be A Little More Expensive Than The Others, But I Am Well Worth It. After This Lesson We Can Decide If You Would Like To Continue And What Lesson Plan Will Work For You. "Learn From The Best" and lower your scores. Learning these to begin with is absolutely essential in making the game easier. If you are a new golfer, I recommend the 10-lesson program, gives us time to stress the basic set-up, routine and fundamentals that are so important. Intermediate golfer's I recommend a 6-lesson package for two reasons, #1- saves money #2- gives me adequate time to evaluate you as a golfer and prepare a plan with you. With advanced players I work very hard on how to contact and control the golf ball. Distance and control is everything. I keep my students to a very manageable level, so I am able to focus on you 120% My Lessons run 45 minutes to 1 hour- I am not a time committed instructor meaning my students do not leave the lesson until they completely understand what we are working on, and we have a plan of attack to move forward.

Gary is able to analyze my grip, swing, and stance by being a good observer then gives great advice to fix my bad habits. He has advanced technical knowledge and is very patient to keep reminding the leaning points. His homework helps me to keep fixing and improving techniques. I enjoy my lessons with Gary.

I found MoreBirdies in my Neighbors app and read Gary’s profile. Pretty impressive. So I thought I’d give it a shot. Gary watched me warm up and immediately saw a couple of things to work on. Never more than that at one time. In fact when I concentrated on the number one swing thought he saw it fixed my other issue. With the technology he has we were able to set some parameters for me to shoot for. When I leave my lessons I know what to work on. I like an introductory lesson to make sure we are able to work together, and you like what I can do for you. After that we can decide if you want to move forward and what lesson plan will work for you. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Working with a beginner I reliantly stress the fundamentals and creating a simple routine. Basic set-up, alignment, posture, and grip is crucial to a beginner. I make this routine as simple as possible, so it becomes automatic every swing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over 40 years as an instructor and former PGA player. Spent Countless hours of tuition by some of the best instructors in the business. Butch Harmond, Dave Petz, Hank Haney, David Leadbetter, Jim McLean and Clay Ballard US Kids Golf Member Instructor 2010 to present NorCal Instructor of the Year 2015, 2018 Recognized By Many Golf Agencies as One of The Best Golf Coaches in Northern California.
