Introduction: Because of ... 1. my having been exposed to many renown teachers; and, 2. the variety of teaching styles that I thus experienced; plus, 3. my many years of experience in teaching these fundamental materials; 4. to many different individuals, in many types of venues and situations; 5. I am able to tailor the delivery of these fundamental materials to the actual students who are in a given class at any one time; so, 6. rarely do I teach two classes exactly the same way; 7. this makes my classes more individually focused and more 'alive' to the students; and finally, 8. I can respond well to the questions asked by the students, and often let them 'lead' me in my teaching.

I have been a student of Sifu Daniel Quincy’s since 2009. Through his classes and practices, I feel that I really gained a skill that will benefit me for the rest of my life. Having dislocated my knee multiple times, I had a very poor sense of balance and was unsteady on my feet. Daniel has helped me gain my balance and, more importantly, shown me how to center myself. He has a deep knowledge of the human body and teaches how to use proper alignment and explain what motions are healthy or dangerous. This is invaluable since many of us have lost this inherent knowledge about how to use our bodies. Daniel is very approachable and welcoming, always inviting newcomers to come at any time. He is always open to questions and helps new (and old!) students understand the practices at all levels. He has a wealth of knowledge about the background and history of tai chi and qi gong, and this helps to put the practice into perspective. In the end, you will gain a practice that makes you feels great, gets your energy flowing and is wonderful for your mind, body and spirit!

I feel very honored and lucky to be studying with Daniel Quincy. His patience is so welcome, which is good since Taiji is not easy. His knowledge of his art is amazing. I feel his teaching style is complete. We not only learn the Taiji forms, but why the form is important, the intricacies of the moves, a short history of the moves and forms and how we can apply them to our current lives. Another thing very apparent in Daniel's teaching is his commitment to Taiji and to his students. I hope he continues to teach for a long time so I can benefit from his talent.

I have been a student of Daniels for a couple of years now. I cherish the time with him in learning Tai Chi. He has a unique way of teaching and the stories behind it that goes a long way. I especially likes how he takes the time to show the proper moves and how 1 move leads to another

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    1. Talk to me, make sure I'm personable. 2. Check me out in person, by participating in one of my public classes, and make sure I can teach (and can teach you! in particular). 3. Find out who my teachers were, and whether what I'm teaching is legitimate. 4. Notice the caliber of my students, what they do and say, show and tell, and if that is the direction you want to be headed in! 5. Do I look healthy, agile, thriving and able at what I do, and perhaps am I even masterful at it? 6. Notice if I enjoy and love to do what I do.
