David has been working for us for two weeks and is doing a very good job. He has put in garage stairs, sheet rock repair, molding around doors and rehanging doors that stick. He arrives on time and goes right to work. It is hard finding a "universal" handyman and I certainly would recommend David. We will continue to use him as we have other projects.

I hired Jasper from My Apartment Is Better Than Yours. I think they did a terrific job at a very reasonable price. I'm really pleased that I decided to go with them. I had a number of unusual carpentry tasks to complete when I moved to my new place. The windows were old and the wood was irregular and moldy, so the wood around the antique glass panels needed to be replaced. I was told those windows hadn't been opened in 40 years, but now they work perfectly and you'd never know the wood wasn't original. Also, several doorways lacked doors when I moved in, and were unusual rounded shapes cut into the stucco without doorframes. Jasper was able to make me custom doors with antique iron-wrought handles, and they look awesome. I also needed threshholds worked on, cabinets put up, new benches made for my roof deck, a custom projector and screen put in, antique chandeliers installed, a lock repaired... and I'm probably forgetting one or two things. They are in the process of putting the finishing touches on my humidor (they had to build me custom legs for it), and it's going to look spectacular. Anyway, they knocked it all out of the park. They were prompt and clean and didn't cause much of a disturbance despite all the work they were doing. They'll be my go-to for anything I need done in the future. I definitely recommend them.

Great job on replacing our railing and balusters. Old railing was an unstable metal structure with too big of gaps between the balusters, Victor installed solid wood posts and wrought iron balusters to the design we wanted. He did good work, final result looks just like we wanted, and did a good job fixing all holes/scratches from old railing and installation process. The reasons why I'm taking off one star are that work took longer than previously planned, so final cost was higher than expected (by 15%). He did put in a couple of hours on top of the final charge, so I appreciated that to offset the delays. The work was overall pretty clean, though on the second layer of wood stain (on the rail and posts) there was a good sized stain left on the carpet that I'm not sure anything will really take out without damage to the carpet. Overall, reliable and quality work, will use his services again for other house repairs/renovations.

I hired Marc to fix a frameless glass shower door that had slipped over time. This is a very heavy glass door that was very difficult for me to fix on my own. I tried and failed. Then I called Marc. He got in touch with me promptly and quoted me for one hour of work ($80) to fix the door. It actually took him a little longer, so he asked for $120, which I thought was fair, considering my door is larger than average and harder to fix. He worked hard, was knowledgable, and personable. $80/hour is a bit steep, but I'd probably still hire Marc for future handy work around the house. I recommend you give him a call if you need something fixed.

Alex was great! We hired him to do the floor tiles in our bathroom. When that went great, he said he could do the backsplash in our kitchen. Both jobs were timely and turned out super. Next we needed help with the stairs for our back deck. Alex took on the job and also finished building out the deck, stairs and railing. He delivered on time and within budget -- two things that aren't easy to come by. We highly recommend working with Alex.

Edwin did a magnificent job for me. He fixed our stair railing, garage door, installed a new garbage disposal and installed our new double Bosch Oven which needed the cabinet to be strengthened and redone. Overall could not be happier with the quality of the work he did. On time and on budget.

Sean is everything you could want to tackle your handyman projects! He is flexible and detail oriented. He has all his own tools and is great at listening AND making suggestions. Just what I needed! He came early to assess my rather unusual requests (door repair, deck cleaning) and was extremely professional. He has a friendly demeanor and seems to really enjoy helping out. He was always upbeat (even though I'm sure my tasks weren't the most exciting!) and was even willing to come back the next day to finish the door repair to allow more drying time. He was always mindful of the time agreed upon, has very reasonable rates for such a range of skills and experience, and was very generous with his time and effort; doing a quality job was a priority. I only wish I had something that would utilize his more creative talents with wood-working and inlays. He is a licensed contractor, so, even as he worked on my requests, he made other suggestions such as getting my outlet fixed (yikes!) to ensure safety. Sean really wanted to be sure the job met my expectations, did a top-notch job, and was always professional, positive, and funny. I was very pleased with his work. Hire him! You won't be disappointed.

Mattos Remodeling was very responsive, punctual, courteous, professional and reasonably priced. Bill not only handled the dry wall patch and installed a towel rack but was kind enough to pick up a new towel bar at Home Depot! I will be calling him again with my next project.

Matt at FMS Metal Works did a fine job from the start of the process of contacting me regarding the potential job to providing me with the proper paperwork for a job quote. The end product/project was more than satisfactory. Compared to the other bids I received from Thumbtack app he was very professional in promptly returning email/phone calls about the potential job. There were some welding vendors that did not return my inquiries about the possible project and one that wanted to start the job on the spot that day of the job quote without any type of job contract or he was not gonna do it at all. Be careful about vendors that do not want to provide you with a job estimate that both parties can agree on. Overall experience with FMS metal works was good. Will definitely do business again for future welding projects.

We wanted to replace our very old iron railing on our stairs with custom railing of both iron and wood. From the moment we contacted the company, to receiving the estimate, and then the work itself (all done by Brian specifically), the total project took about a week! Our stairs were out with the old and in with the new in just 2 days! Brian did a fantastic job with his woodwork on the stairs, as well as valued and listened to our goals. What impressed us the most was not only the quality of his work, but his professionalism! We've hired many workers on our home in the past, and Brian was the ONLY one who would keep everything around his work area clean and neat and would actually clean up ALL areas before leaving the job each visit! That was a HUGE plus for us. We can't thank Brian at Aloha Handrails enough and definitely recommend this company to everyone!

Bill Fry is a consumate professional. His crew has been with him a very long time and they emulate their boss with regard to quality workmanship, professionalism, neatness and keen focus on cleanliness and customer.satisfaction. We did a major remodel with Bill a few years ago and have never looked back. Their attention to detail is second to none. Bill is polite, low key, knows his trade and we would recommend his company highly. Nothing but the best.
