Introduction: Jerry Beck of Beck's Entertainment earned his reputation by delivering exceptional service that is paralleled by no other DJ company in San Diego. Contact Jerry at Becks Entertainment dot com for a quote. Beck's Entertainment has grown tremendously over the years based on the motto of "under-promise and over-deliver", starting as a very young, popular "roller-skating" DJ in the '80s and '90s. One of his credits is the movie "Roll Bounce" as Jerry, being the original DJ played by Wayne Brady. Jerry then took his talents to radio, clubs and then corporate events. Jerry honed his skills to become one of San Diego's premier wedding DJ services. Jerry found that entertaining people with music came really easy. At a very young age of 12, Jerry realized his gift and quickly became the popular music resource in his then little town of Pittsburgh, not realizing that his career started with the press of "play" of the cassette deck outside of his elementary school, with all of his friends gathered around in eager anticipation to see what Jerry was going to play. Jerry has always been a trendsetter in his industry, working with the likes of The Rolling Stones, Cher, Snoop Dogg, and Kanye West just to name a few. The list goes on and on. From the initial meeting through the entire planning process to your actual event, Jerry is with you every step of the way. Jerry takes great pride in his ability to build your song list into a unique, personal soundtrack, one that expresses your individual personalities. Jerry prepares for each celebration by creating timelines well in advance to ensure a smooth flow of events. Jerry considers himself part of a team that is comprised of all your vendors. It is his job to work together to make your day a great success. As his client, you will have access to a wide array of online planning tools, including our extensive music library, your timeline, your request lists, and more. At your event, Jerry pays close attention to every detail. Jerry's systems are set up before your guests arrive, with a presentation that blends with the elegance of your decor. Jerry makes sure that there is continuous music, from one location to the next. Jerry believes that music touches everyone, and we will read your crowd perfectly, so that you have the best celebration ever!

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I create the perfect atmosphere by reading the crowd and playing the music that my clients and their guests want to hear. With years of experience in playing music at events I am an expert at creating a musical experience that the bride and groom and all of their guest will remember for years to come. During the planning process of the event I am with my clients every step of the way to help them select the songs that they like. I make recommendations on song selections that I could play to help achieve the goals that they want. The goal is always a successful event where your guests leave saying "WOW, this was the best wedding ever!

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Anyone that is looking to hire a professional DJ should first interview them on the phone. If you feel comfortable then move to an in-person meeting. After establishing that you actually like the DJ and can visualize having him or her as your DJ then the next step is to see if they can connect with you about music. You do this by asking the DJ for a couple of examples of songs that would be played at different parts of your day for instance dinner, or cocktail hour or dancing. Also don't let price be the initial determining factor on where you want to meet or not. It's better to spend a little more to get quality than run the risk of a DJ charging less and practicing his skills on your big day.
