Absolutely! I continue to study, to take masters classes and to participate in professional organizations that promote further learning.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
This is one job that is defined by hilarity, and the expression, "a good time was had by all" always applies. I was attracted to this profession because it's so much fun, because I make people happy in the process of entertaining them, because I meet interesting people along the way, because I enjoy the excitement.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Corporate events, high school and college functions, charity fund-raisers, private parties, holiday celebrations, fairs
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
After one show, an elderly, grieving widower came up to me and told me this was the first time he had not only been out of the house in 3 months, but had laughed. He'd been despondent since his wife died. But he enjoyed the show so much it lifted his depression.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
That they pay close attention to what's being offered
