Jose came out and did a fantastic job. I've been remodeling homes for a long time, and have worked with many contractors, and he is one of the better ones I've worked with.

Brian did a good job! You should hire him for your next job. - Communication: Great. He was very responsive on Thumbtack, and clear with pricing in his reply. Also ongoing scheduling communication after hiring (text) was responsive and clear also. - He was prompt (even a bit early) for the appointment. - After a quick tour of the room, he began to setup and get to work preparing the surface and protecting my belongings. - He meticulously prepared the surfaces (caulking corners, filling holes, sanding down spots, removing hardware), and the result of doing so was good. - He was respectful of my things (all of my personal belongings including laptops, phones etc. were there). - He brought/used all his own equipment including a fan to dry between coats. - I bought the higher quality Dunn-Edwards paints he recommended and it worked out well for both of us. He let me use his contractor discount. - Color choice support, though admitting not his strength, he used his girlfriend's great sense of color to help me narrow down my color. - He did at least two coats and painted the doors and trim too. - He worked for about 7 hours straight including setup/teardown, and came back and finished for 3 additional hours (a la carte).

Hired Larry to patch stucco along the foundation, and to cap a block wall. He did the work as requested at a fair price, with little mess to clean up. Color was not exact (trying to match 10-year-old stucco), but he went to the extra effort to spray dye to blend in the work, which helped. Appreciated him enough that we also hired him to complete a wall texturing job another contractor on Thumbtack was ill-equipped to perform. He did adequately on that work, but worked with us to ultimately get us a satisfactory product. Nice to work with. Thanks, Larry!

If I could select 5 areas instead of just 3 that I liked about Dave, I would! If you have the opportunity to hire Dave, consider yourself lucky. You’ll feel completely at ease that your project will happen on time and on budget with good communication. And having been a builder hiring and managing contractors for some 10 years on and off...this kind of contractor is rare. I first hired Dave to install the 22 windows in my new construction project. That went extremely well. Then I hired him to paint the house. I wasn’t ready as scheduled and he handled it professionally with understanding. We started 2 days later and he hit it hard. Then I hired him to complete the drywall, mud and tape for 1000sf. Those walls are perfectly smooth...no texture...straight corners. Then he tiled a bathroom with 2’ x 6” tiles and adjoining pebble stone mesh tile. IT IS PERFECT. When the last task was taking longer than expected, Dave’s wife and son jumped in and worked until 11pm to finish when promised. As I say, if you’re reading this then count yourself lucky to have happened across Dave.

As the Project Manager for an upgrade to a condo for resale, I hired Emmy Hyde to do the work. She did a great job! Her attention to detail was impressive and she was very easy to work with. As an Interior Designer, I work with a lot of contractors who assume I know nothing about their trade and often condescend or disregard my opinion. On the contrary with Emmy, even though she knows her trade well. Will definitely hire her again.

Antonio was one of the best contractors I've ever hired. He replaced a section of chain link fencing with wood fencing on a property I just purchased. He was very pleasant, knowledgable, efficient, and courteous. He came exactly on time, updated me every day regarding progress, and cleaned up after he was finished. All this at a very reasonable rate. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Antonio again!

I hired Donaldo & Manuel to remove the popcorn ceilings in my condo and to also remove the 'orange peel' texture (ugly, 'pimply' drywall finish sprayed on by drywall contractors) that was on every single wall. The last step was to paint the entire place. D & M came to my house to bid the job and I received a quote the next day. They came over to my house second time to show me samples of smooth drywall texture finishes to choose from. They were on time, asked questions and answered all my questions. Much of the 1st day D&M was on the job was spent prepping my unit. I recently had new laminate flooring installed which was a big concern for me considering there were so many messy, scraping/drywall sanding and painting steps to follow. Each day great care was taken with the prepping for whatever step was being done. The first step to be completed was the removal of the popcorn ceiling. The second step was putting a thin coat of drywall over the existing texture, letting it dry, lightly sanding and then smoothing and lightly texturing the final coat of drywall mud for the finish. The last step was rolling the paint on the walls and painting the trim color. The crucial and important thing for me was the care that D & M took every single morning to re-lay plastic and paper covering over my new floor. Every evening they would remove it and clean up meticulously as possible before leaving. It was amazing. D&M arrived every day promptly at 8AM and worked a full day. They were friendly, courteous and very concerned with my satisfaction every step of the way. They always asked questions, never assuming anything which was great. I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat because this 6 day paint job was done with the utmost concern for quality (theirs) and satisfaction (mine and theirs) at every step. Brandon met me at Lowes at 8:30am to pick up supplies. We got to my house around 09:15. He fixed a broken kitchen cabinet. He painted my bathroom including the trim around the window. He hung a Venetian blind in my 2nd bdrm. He replaced my old toilet with a new and improved version. All four of these tasks were part of the estimate. Brandon also unclogged my bathroom sink-not part of the estimate- he just did it. Brandon was finished around 3:45pm. He knew all the tricks that help a contractor save time, but still get the job done correctly. I am extremely happy with the results and definitely will be using Brandon for future jobs. Thanks Brandon! Mark Gonzales

The good: Quality work at a great price. Meticulous attention to detail. Hard worker. Knowledgeable. The bad: Travis and I agreed on a price after he spent about 15-20 minutes looking over the job site. He gave me a quote for labor and we went and I bought the supplies for him. A couple days later when he was supposed to start the job he told me that he had underbid the job and that he needed to charge me more. I told him I didn’t appreciate that and that we had already agreed and shook hands on a price. He agreed that he should honor his word but I ended up meeting him in the middle because I don’t want my contractors to do a bad job or hold a grudge. He also was unable to finish by the agreed upon end date and we had to push what was supposed to be a 7 day job out another 4 days. Travis also underestimated the amount of supplies he needed so I had to purchase more paint and primer for him to finish his job. Despite these setbacks, I would hire Travis again for future jobs. He is a good guy that does great work. He just underestimated his physical condition and his attention to detail causes him to take longer than he thought he needed. These are good qualities. I told Travis that had he quoted me the same all in cost I ended up paying and told me the actual timeframe it took him, I would have hired him and he would have a 5 Star glowing review now. I would recommend him to any other user just make sure he has sufficient time to get the job done and make sure the agreed upon price is non negotiable.

Wish I could give 10 stars. We've had multiple contractors working on our project - I only wish they could all be as good as Rudy. He was fair and honest, worked quickly, showed up exactly when he said (actually early) and was clean and careful in the process. Would def work with him again.

As a former contractor from Chicago I was very impressed with Jay's knowledge, skills and professionalism. Having a contractor come into your home is different than when doing an industrial or commercial project, a homeowner needs to feel comfortable with a contractor since it is your home. Jay has that positive kind of presence when working in your home which is important. We have more work to be done in our home in the future and we will look forward to working with Jay on our next project. We would highly recommend he and Frank's Boyz to anyone.

We had Coggins Construction install crown molding in our home. Patrick was very professional throughout the entire process and satisfactorily completed the project under the initial price quote, which was already extemely reasonable. He actually listened to what we wanted and was respectful of our house-things that previous contractors neglected. We would recommend Patrick's services to anyone.

I highly recommend Daniel. He responded to our requests immediately and was able to show up the following day to do all our repairs. The previous contractor I had tried to hire didn't show up or call back for 2 days. Great job Daniel!

Nationwide Secure did the tile flooring and sink installation for my bathroom. By far, they have been the most responsive and professional company out of all contractors I have hired. From time of thumbtack post to job completion was one week, and throughout, Nationwide Secure was straightforward and an overall pleasure to work with. I could not be happier with my finished bathroom. My initial bathroom setup was a bit awkward, but Robert did some creative work with the tiles to make the finished product look good. During the work, there was also some dry rot on the walls that he removed free of charge, just to do a thorough and complete job. The end product was stunning. Thanks Robert!

GW Construction helped me with a remodel. The job consisted of uprighting a 12 ft. support beam and approximately 25 drywall panels. The price was a lot less than other contractors that bid on the job and they completed the job in one week. Matt and Jody communicated with me on a daily basis asking how the job was going. They were absolutely dedicated to my satisfaction. The contractors that worked on the project were professional and made me laugh all day long. They even let me know when they saw a better idea for my remodel or saw something that we needed to tweak to make it look better. No fuss, no hassle, no problems. Matt gives you his price and sticks to it, even if something comes up and a little more work needs to be done. Overall a great experience and a job well done!

I’ve worked with many contractors over the years, both here in California as well as all the way to New York and Hawaii. My experience has taught me the most valued qualities in a contractor are honesty, quality of work, the ability to listen and design my vision, along with efficiency and cost. I’ve worked with Gordon over a period of 18 years and he is definitely my go-to guy!
