Hello- My name is Michael Dashefsky I have worked as a performing arts professional for over 8+ years. My Training: I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre Performance from California State University Fullerton. My Professional Experience: I have performed as a vocalist and piano player for : Disney, Universal, Holland America Cruise Line and Princess Cruise Lines. I also sang on a Broadway Style Christmas National Tour and also performed in several regional theatre productions in Southern California. I have also worked in Chicago as an assistant music supervisor for the Beatles and Shakespeare production of As You Like it where I played piano, sang, music directed and played a character in the show. I am a member of the Actors Equity Association. We can come up with an action plan to work on your current strengths and areas for improvement. All ages and all skill sets welcome. Why study with me? Mike is a great instructor! He was able to work with me at my own level and pace. He gave several tips on how to improve and by the end of the lesson I already felt more confident and comfortable with my singing.

I had my first lesson with Mike today and can confidently say I was very pleased. I have a gig coming up this weekend and I feel much more confident going into it now than I did before our lesson. He did an amazing job in listening for things to fix in my voice and focusing on what I wanted to fix. I really have been wanting to work on belting and he definitely got me there. I plan to continue working with him so I can get more consistent and confident in my belting as well as control it better. Thanks to Mike, I am much more confident for my next performance!

Just completed my first lesson with Mike and I am happy to say I will be continuing lessons with him. Plenty of learning in a 30-minute time period as well as plenty of things to practice outside of lessons. The price was worth the experience!

I am a singer/songwriter, and the way Mike can make concepts just click so that you can immediately apply and enhance your singing quality is the greatest bang for your buck that you could ask for! He's a great communicator, I was immediately comfortable with him, I'm a very shy performer bc I have no confidence in my ability to sing. His confidence in my capability had me out there trying even if I felt I would crash and burn; however, using his feedback, I could immediately lose that fear. I got more out of one session with Mike than I did attending an entire semester of vocal courses at university. When we were done, he sent me a video of our entire recording where I could see he staggering difference between the first few minutes and the last few minutes in my vocal quality. The video pans to whoever is talking/singing, which I found very helpful to see myself perform. He also gives excellent feedback on song-writing without infringing on creativity. He's not just trying to get the song follow the rules but also follow your creative rules which I find very beneficial. He pays attention to the details because he knows that they make the difference. He's incredibly flexible working with me even as a full-time student, mother of five, work life, etc. He, definitely, has the So Cal chill attitude!
