We had our son at School of Rock in Point Loma. That was a good school, but far away. And, the private lessons at School of Rock were too short. The focus was more on playing with the band. US Music is better. The private lessons are a full hour long. My sons drum teacher Todd comes to our house so our son gets to learn on his own acoustic set. To us that's a big plus over School of Rock. They also have bands students can join like School of Rock so students can play with others. And, they hold recitals. In the short time my son has been with US Music Lessons I have noticed a major improvement.

I highly recommend US Music Lessons! My 14-year-old son has been with US Music Lessons for nearly a year as part of the Rock Band class. He is a drummer and has loved playing with other students in his band as they learn together the skills they need to be part of an actual rock band. They have played multiple times at local venues, including the Hard Rock Cafe, which has been an incredible experience for the kids. Although my son already was a drummer coming into US Music Lessons (Thanks to his grandfather), he has learned a great deal from the wonderful teachers that instruct the Rock Band. My son plays with kids every week who have been students of US Music Lessons learning various instruments, including voice lessons, and their experience has been positive. The kids coming out of US Music Lessons are all gifted and talented young musicians thanks to the wonderful teachers dedicated to their musical growth. The Rock Band class is an innovative, fun and inspiring way to teach music in that it develops a love and passion for performing and therefore a desire to improve on a daily basis. Playing with others that are like-minded and receiving the feedback in an actual performance class from the instructor has been an invaluable experience for my son.
