Alan from Riverstone Landscaping took on our landscape project and we are extremely pleased with the end results! I think the before and after pictures we'll attach should speak for themselves.
Long story short, we were left in a lurch after our original landscape company took our payments and never completed our landscape project after doing most of the demo and starting a few things. Took us almost 2 years amid Covid to find a trustworthy company to complete the remaining work, so we are very thankful to have found Alan who was trustworthy, reasonably priced, and most importantly stands behind his work!
The main work Alan (who worked mainly with his younger brother) did for us was complete our drip irrigation system and add a timer to water our plant areas in the front and back yards, installed a low voltage transformer with timer and wire up and install all our landscape lighting - which consisted of 19 spot lights, 6 downlights, and about 12 LED strip lights, plant numerous succulents and other plants including one large king palm, and add weed barrier and white quartz rock in all areas which had dirt that wasn't going to be replaced by artificial turf. Note that the artificial turf itself was installed by another company that specialized in artificial turf installations and was installed a week or two after Riverstone had completed all their work.
As an aside, there are a few things I'll add if you want to have Riverstone work on your project.
First, I'd say make sure you have a flexible schedule and are ok with them working part days most of the time. The end results will be worth it but don't expect a traditional work schedule.
Secondly, we had a few minor miscommunications on expectations and project scope, so I would recommend making sure you discuss all details up front to avoid any similar issues. Luckily, Alan is a very reasonable guy and we were able to work things out without any major issues or changes in price/schedule.
Thirdly, if you are as picky as us about details, make sure you request pictures or sample of all materials before purchasing. Just a lesson learned we had during the project as we are probably more particular about everything than most.
That said, Riverstone and Alan did a bang up job of completing our project and making our landscaping look truly amazing! He also stayed on budget with no surprise gotchas. We love spending time outdoors now and that's in large part thanks to Riverstone. We have had so many neighbors walk by our home since we completed our project and tell us how beautiful our home and lighting looks. So a big thank you and kudos to Alan and company for making our house feel like a resort home!
The last thing I'd add is Riverstone can also be trusted to stand by it's work which can't be said about all companies. But we had an issue with one of our LED lights after project completion, and reached out to Alan and he returned within a few days to correct the issue under warranty no questions asked. That type of quality customer service is why we will not hesitate to hire Riverstone again for our future project!

Amazing from start to finish!! This team was responsive, cared about hearing about my situation, and ready to help. They made it happen. I had an immediate need and they found a solution. Their spirit and professional attitudes were top notch. I love the way the dove right in and turned things around. They went above the job and I was very appreciative of their work. My pricing is hire since I have a contractors license. I also have workers comp and general liability insurance.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a California contractos license C-27 and as well a associate degree in ornamental horticulture with a irrigation technology certification.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I stared when I was 15 as a side job and became a career for me.
