Michael was truly amazing from start to finish. We were able to connect and come up with a plan for our wedding day. He helped me figure out how much alcohol to buy and also suggested a special cocktail. When I spoke to Michael, he mentioned that he was also a florist. This was great news because I had not come up with a plan for my bouquet or boutenir. I would recommend Michael to anyone who is throwing a party. Wedding and Event Decorating
Michael set up decorations for our wedding. Scope of responsibilities included: - picking up items, - staging decor in prescribed locations in the venue, and - proposing vases, lighting, and other decor solutions. It was a good experience overall, but we were a little disappointed that the finished product drifted from our instructions. The highlights of hiring Michael were: - early and insightful advice / recommendations on practical things (i.e. Ladders, extension cords, etc.) specific to the venue. - response time and flexibility during the planning process - competitive rates Michael missed a few key instructions during the setup and a guest for our reception had to jump in and review/correct his work. Some misses could not be fixed and were present for the reception. These misses were far from catastrophic, but significant enough for my wife to notice. All in, they had no impact -- we and our guests still had a blast-- but looking back, we are disappointed because we had spent so much time preparing detailed instructions, drawings, sample photos, and floorplans. I'd work with Michael again as long as we could develop a system or have a plan to improve Michael's time management and attention to detail.Oct 30, 2016Verified
We were looking for a "day of" coordinator for our wedding...so I started looking on Thumbtack for help. After reading reviews on Michael and his profile, we met up at a local coffee shop to talk about what our needs were and if he could do it. I had a great feeling about him right then...I even showed him our card table ideas and wedding favors, and he gave me better ideas of how to set them up (talk about "thinking outside the box!"). Up until the BIG day, he kept in touch, asked how things were going and if I needed any help....I so much appreciated these messages being the nervous bride! The day of, he was punctual, was able to get through a "check list" I made him regarding set up and timing...and, most importantly, he kept me calm! If any "hiccup" came up, he fixed it in an instant! I truly believe our wedding ran smoothly and on time, thanks to Michael! I would definitely hire him again for any party planning/coordinating needs...or even floral needs (he is a great florist, too!) Thank you so much, Michael! I wanted our dream wedding to be exactly that. We had a tight budget, however, thanks to Michael it was more than I expected. He worked closely with me, so there were no surprises or stressful issues. And his ideas for flowers and decoe are nothing less than stunning. He is honest and his communication skills are flawless. I was thrilled with the outcome and several of my guests were so impressed they requested his contact info. Best of all, Michael and I now have an ongoing relationship where I can call upon him for a jumpstart to a menu or party plan or advice on home decor.
