Clifford is a very talented and accomplished musician, and also a very solid teacher. His expectations are high but realistic, and he makes lessons enjoyable--both attributes of a good teacher. I feel fortunate to have a teacher with his expertise; he has a lot to offer students like me.

I'm a songwriter and have published a worship album in Mandarin last year. Though I'm considered a pretty good singer among people I know, I know there's a big difference between a pretty good amateur singer and a professional one. With the desire to close, or at least to minimize the gap, I looked online for a voice teacher who can help me, and found Ken. I like that he is a singer and composer himself, and more! Ken has good ears and a great sense of humor! He's also very good at communication. I sent him a song I posted on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIJkPgl72b4 before we met. He quickly identified a couple of things I need to work on. I knew right there this is someone I can definitely learn from. I'm glad Ken responded to my inquiry in the first place, though he's out of my range in distance! It takes forty minutes, with no traffic, to drive to his place, but it's all good! I could practice what I have just learned on the drive home by singing every road sign! Ken does not feed me with any standardized curriculum. He works around my needs. I just had my second lesson. We practiced every skill I need to improve with an original song I wrote. I'm sure my second album will sound much better from this point on! Thanks, Ken!

Miles was awesome! professional, proactive, and flexible! we hired Miles to provide music/entertainment for our grandmother's 95th birthday. we were in an elegant setting and Miles's music just elevated the atmosphere and celebration. miles even took the time to learn tagalog/filipino music and played it during our banquet. typical filipino gathering, there will always 1 or 2 aunt or uncle who just want to karaoke and Miles indulged them by letting them sing as he accompanied them (see attached pic). Thank you Miles for marking our celebration even more memorable and fun! I would definitely hire Miles for another event!

My son and his classmate took saxophone lessons with Andrew to be ready for Fall Band in 5th grade. He is straight forward and they learned fast from him. I highly recommend him.

I used to play in band as a kid, but I never explored singing very much. I wanted to try something new and was curious to know if I was any good. Ashten has started from the very beginning with me. I never knew how much went into singing before I took lessons with her. And she's been patient teaching me all of the concepts and works at my pace. I am really enjoying studying the voice and never knew how possible it is to become a better singer if you use the right tools. I'm definitely seeing and hearing very positive results.

Karin is very professional and very nice and patient. I only took one quarter of piano class at school before taking classes with Karin, but I have made a big progress. She is willing to offer course materials based on the students' needs or teach what the students want to learn. I really enjoy learning from Karin and really appreciate it.

Jeffrey is a superior piano teacher and pianist. I'm a full-time music teacher in the Bay Area, with over 25 years of experience. I'm also the founding director of a popular after-school music program, so I've hired many music teachers over the years. Jeffrey is by far my favorite! I have recommended Jeffrey to a number of my students and they have all excelled at a rapid pace under his musical guidance. Jeffrey has high standards and expectations for his students and at the same time is gentle and patient with them. He has a systematic approach to music reading, harmony, improvisation and composition which has proven to be most effective with all his students. He knows hundreds and hundreds of songs and can play in any style including classical, rock, pop, Latin and his specialty, jazz. You're musical life will be transformed in a most positive way if you have the privilege of studying with this master teacher. Highly recommended for both children and adults.

As wedding and event planners, it is crucial to find bands that set the perfect tone for the event. Los Boleros was fabulous. For this wedding, they created an atmosphere that got the guests up from their chairs, dancing all night long. The entire process; from booking through perfmance was professional and exactly what we hoped for. I would strongly recommend working with Rudy and this band. It was a great experience all around....not to mention that the band is just AMAZING!

I worked with Michael Lu to hire a string quartet for my corporate event. Michael and the musicians were outstanding. They arrived on time and looked very professional. They were easy to work with, were quick to communicate when needed and their quality of music more than exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend Michael Lu to anyone looking for corporate or event musical entertainment, and I will certainly hire them again in the future.

For anyone looking to hire a band, look no further than Retro Jukebox! We recently had Retro Jukebox play at our wedding, and many guests told us that the band was the highlight of their experience-- the minute they opened the dance floor with a James Brown number, everyone rushed to get moving and shaking! As clients, we were incredibly impressed with Retro's ability to cater the event experience to a cross-cultural audience of various backgrounds and ages. A significant percentage of our audience was Indian, and they were able to put together a program which appealed to all. We appreciated their flexibility in allowing a short 'Indian music' segment, even doing some improv and dancing along with it! Hopefully, this also inspired a few ideas for future gigs as well. :-) Additionally, my husband and I both sing, and wanted to perform a song with the band at our wedding. To accommodate our request, Retro held multiple rehearsals with us both prior to the event and day of the event. Geechi, the band's lead singer, even cut short a gig to practice the entire entrance and production before the guests arrived, which was instrumental in pulling off a seamless performance. Our guests were simply wowed by the introduction that greeted them when they walked in-- it felt like a professional show. Geechi not only delivered as an excellent vocalist, but also as an entertaining and charismatic emcee. His rendition of Billy Ocean's 'Suddenly' stood out as the finest instance of musicality in the entire evening-- my father went up to the stage and asked him to perform an encore of the entire song. Talent, professionalism, and an infectious positivity-- that is Retro Jukebox! Thank you for making our wedding so special.

Joe and J Silverheels were an awesome cover band! They tailored my wish list as requested and all four musicians had amazing talent. The energy was perfect as they engaged the audience throughout the performance. It was an intimate urban outdoor setting, they were able to adjust the sound level accordingly and brought some cool lighting to spice things up just that much more. The dance floor opened up quickly and it was a great synergy. I would not hesitate to recommend this band; especially if you want to mix in some quality jazz with a wide selection of rock and roll. Last but not least, they play a mean harmonica plus tenor and alto saxophones to boot!!

Tyliah Productions is very talented, detailed, professional and absolutely fun! Tyliah Productions hosted my wedding in April and they were absolutely amazing! They were on time, very professional and were absolutely amazing with their music. All different styles from old school to modern as well as Mexican music, which was tough since it was far from their genre. They delivered and much more. They also helped coordinate our reception so that music and our schedule flowed throughout without flaws. Also amazing was the slideshow that I requested to put together and they were happy to help out. One of the best surprises was an Instagram LIVE feed. People would post pictures on Instagram and they would enter #ninarolo and the picture was on a live feed for everyone to see. It was such an amazing surprise! They have the newest equipment and they make sure you're music is absolutely perfect. They definitely work with you and make sure that you get what you want with their input as well. Pricing is very affordable and they have different pricing depending on the event and timing. I really enjoyed meeting with them and making sure that everything comes together before the big day. You're not left hanging wondering whether you'll here from them or not. You'll always have a way to get in contact with them. My husband and I are extremely happy to have had Tyliah Productions not just the DJs at our wedding but have been lucky to have had them become part of our wedding. We had an amazing time and we wouldn't ask another DJ to host our events. Can't wait for the next event!!

Martan has been doing a wonderful job teaching my teenage son jazz piano for the past few years. Martan has a proven approach starting at the basics and advancing to very sophisticated techniques at a pace the student can handle. The techniques my son is learning are also directly applicable to playing jazz on other instruments such as the saxophone that my son also plays in his school band.
