My work stands out from others photographers because I seek to capture emotion. My number one priority is encapsulating the feeling in each look, laugh, smile & embrace. I seek to capture joy & convey it tangibly for my clients to reflect on for years to come. I seek also to make connections with my clients making them feel comfortable, free to be themselves and enjoy the process! P.S... Rachel McCord Creative is more than just work for me, it is a true pleasure to be able to lend a hand in creating the highlight reels in people's lives. I get to capture their happiness, love, new babies, showcase their meticulously crafted work, be a fly on the wall at their bustling events and make those who see it feel the excitement of connection to it. Rachel is an amazing photographer who is incredibly fun and easy to work with. She made my last-minute need for portrait photos a quick and painless process, from scheduling a session to providing the final photos all within the same week. Rachel made the shoot a comfortable and relaxed experience. She took the time to review the kinds of shots I was looking for beforehand, suggested poses throughout the session, and was attentive to detail helping me fix my hair/bangs when it needed some adjustment. She took several shots in different settings within our location and provided excellent variety in the final fifteen images that she sent over. I was really impressed by Rachel's quick turnaround of the edited photos. I received them within four days of the shoot and absolutely loved how they all turned out. I look forward to working with Rachel again for my future photo needs! She has a spectacular eye for photography and the wonderful ability to bring out her client's personality in every photo.

I hired Rachel McCord for my boudoir shoot for my upcoming wedding and let me tell you I am so glad I did. I am a bit 'shy' when it comes to things like skipping around in my undergarments, especially when photos are involved, but with Rachel she made it so incredibly comfortable and even fun! She had me giggling and actually enjoying the experience - which reflected in my photos. Not only was she encouraging while also giving me directions, she also worked PAST her contracted time, found us an AMAZING secluded, private, and beautiful place - and on top of that got the photos back to me in less than a week when she new I was strapped for time! She is amazing, and I plan to use her again. Ladies if you are even THINKING of doing a boudoir shoot you would be silly to go with anyone else!

Rachel McCord is someone I would hire again. I contacted her because I needed a couple new professional headshots for my LinkedIn, and she definitely delivered. She was prompt during the shoot, and emailed me the edited photos in less than a week. The best part of the whole shoot was that she was able to bring me out of my shell and let the camera showcase my personality well. I definitely would not have been able to showcase that with a simple point and shoot selfie myself. It takes a true professional to be able to bring that out of someone through the lens and Rachel is that person.

Rachel shot my engagement photos and I couldn't be more pleased with her work. She took time to discuss what we wanted and made sure we were comfortable, but applied her creative, expert eye to the shoot. Edited images were promptly sent to me. Because of that experience, I hired Rachel to shoot product images for my Etsy shop. The pictures were again, what I wanted but better than I imagined. Everything sold! She is professional, fun, interactive, and makes it easy to be in front of a camera.

Rachel is an excellent photographer! I was so pleased with my graduation pictures that she took of me. She knows how to make you feel comfortable, pose you well, and does an amazing job editing pictures. She is awesome with lighting. I had the chance to attend one of her photography art shows and was even more impressed. I will definitely be using her again!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was one of those over-caffeinated/sleep-deprived art student souls who spent a million hours in the darkroom + the computer lab to hone my skills in undergrad! I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Studio Arts & Photography. Worth every penny + sleepless night!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got started in photography learning on a film camera with my dad growing up - we built a darkroom in my garage in high school and I was a total goner from then on. I studied fine art photography in undergrad and it's all history from there!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When advising my clients on what they are looking for in a photographer, I cannot stress enough that your photographer should make you comfortable! My top priority is connecting with my clients, building rapport and creating a fun environment for us to work in together. When you choose your photographer you are putting your trust in them to present you to the rest of the world - you should feel comfortable enough to relax and be yourself with your photographer!
