Kathleen photographed our wedding, and we LOVE the results. We were looking for mostly natural, candid shots with a few classic wedding poses, and she absolutely delivered. She was attentive, easygoing, and a lot of fun to work with. Highly recommend!

Kathleen was excellent on so many levels, and I highly recommend her to anyone with photography needs. She was quick and professional with the planning portion of our shoot (we exchanged lightning-fast emails!), was on time and had lots of location and angle ideas. We hired Kathleen to photograph my father's 60th birthday party, and she was fantastic! We did a number of posed family shots at the beginning, and she snapped photos of the party guests (both posed and candid) for the rest of the night. Not only are the photos incredible, but we received compliments from several of the guests that she was fast, non-invasive, and gave just the right amount of instruction. Thanks, Kathleen!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to talk over the phone with a new customer to get a better idea of their expectations of the shoot and to talk a bit about how I work - I like to take my time and capture authentic moments, rather than heavily posed shots. Then we schedule a date, time, and location for the shoot
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned a Bachelors of Arts from UC Berkeley's College of Environmental Design. I took several fine arts and design courses, but managed to avoid taking a single photography course, while spending most of my free time photographing my peers. My background in art and architecture certainly informs my photography, but I am primarily self-taught.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
After graduating college, while applying to design positions, I told my cousin I really just wanted to take photos. He introduced me to a professional wedding photographer who mentored me as an intern until I started my own business.
