FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I love taking yoga classes all over the city whenever possible. Lately I've been the most interested in Yin (restorative) yoga to help stretch the connective tissue, and partner yoga to explore the element of touch.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was practicing yoga for many years, when I realized that an office job just wouldn't cut it anymore. All the time I spent sitting in chairs was giving me lower back pain, and I needed to deepen my yoga practice just to counteract the effects of daily life. When I realized how sedentary and unhealthy my life had become, I knew it was time to go deeper into the practice of yoga. I went to the holy city of Rishikesh in India for training, and after my teachers there pushed me to start teaching classes locally I realized it was something I would continue to do.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I teach early-morning beginner and intermediate private classes. My current students range from 30-40 years old and are especially eager to gain more flexibility in the hips and hamstrings. I teach pranayama breathing techniques to calm the mind and body, and I teach occasional Yin style restorative classes.
