FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've reinvented myself time and time again. Having grown up in East Los Angeles, I spent five years in Irvine, California obtaining a college degree in Computer Science only to move to Guangzhou, China to teach English for three and a half years before becoming a professional musician there for the remaining four years. I moved to Thailand after that to manage a scuba diving resort for a short period, then moved to New Orleans where I was based for thirteen years. My profession has for the most part been full-time musician, but I've supplemented my work with carpentry, teaching, property management, and short-term rental management. I have supported and backed up hundreds of musicians as a bassist, both on electric and upright, in almost every style of American popular music. My entire life has been throwing myself in situations outside of my comfort zone and finding a way to ground in it--if not the first time, then as soon as possible. In addition to where I've been based, I've travelled the world many times over, spending over half a month or more in places like London, Berlin, France, Thailand, China, Colombia, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Spain, Korea, Mexico, all over the USA, and more! I'm better than anyone I know at being grateful, and not judging and/or shaming you.
