About
Ahoy! I'm a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with a Masters in Composition, and I've been teaching piano and composition for the better part of 10 years in the Bay Area, residing in the Sunset District of San Francisco. I teach all ages and levels, utilizing various proven techniques along with incorporating fun games and activities to make lessons interactive and memorable.
I also host "Studio Class" once a month for all my students where we perform our piano pieces for each other in a low-pressure environment, allowing frequent performance opportunities to develop confidence on stage. It's a fun event held at my place where we serve food and drink and play fun musical games after performances. The kiddos love it!
For piano students, I use Faber Piano Adventures, as I find the material enjoyable and well-paced. For beginning/early intermediate music theory, I use "Practical Theory" by Sandy Feldstein. For more advanced theory, I'll prescribe a text based on the student's abilities.
Let me know if you have any questions or would like to set up a trial lesson with me!

I’ve been going to jeff for a couple months and as a complete beginner in my 20’s he has really been able to improve my playing. He’s also really patient and has great exercises during his sessions. Not only does he teach you how to play but he’s also very knowledgeable on the history of the piano. After every session he gives out a lesson to practice at home. I would highly recommend him if you truly want to learn how to play the piano.

Jeff is an engaging teacher and does a great job of teaching the core parts of musictheory that are often neglected in music classes.

My 2 daughters have been taking Jeff’s lesson for years. His lesson is their joy and fun! The remote situation is very challenging but we are so glad things work out for both of us to keep him as our piano teacher. Jeff is very patient and keeps girls’ attention during the lesson very well and helps to improve their piano playing skill!! Thank you!

Jeff is really a great piano teacher! He has a lot of knowledge about piano and musical composition, and he's able to give me deep insight and great explanations on every piano piece I'm learning. I also noticed that he's trying his best to improve even more his teaching over time and adapt to my learning style, which shows that he's very passionate about his job. He's also a fun person to be around.
Would highly recommend him to students of all levels!
