My friends and I hired Julian for a mixology lesson, and he was simply outstanding! Julian suggested two great cocktails - the sazerac and the cherry blossom flip - and did a great job teaching, bartending, and creating a chill and fun atmosphere. He truly is jubilant - his warmth, sparkling personality, quick wit, and enthusiasm for his craft made for a truly memorable evening!

Julian was a delight! He contacted me before the event and was able to provide some helpful hints for stocking the bar. He arrived a few minutes early to ensure we had enough set up time. He even took our signature cocktail to a whole new level with the addition of egg whites. Hire him.

Firstly, I never give out 5 but Julian really did an outstanding job. He showed up early to help set up, he was sociable, knew his drinks and was able to keep up with the demand. My only feedback is that he probably couldn't keep up with the mounting trash but I would have liked that he cleaned up a bit more but when you have a huge party, it gets to be very difficult. Easily hire him again.

I was recently injured and needed help making up for a rather disappointing birthday experience for my wife. Normally, I would prepare some ridiculous meal for her, do all the shopping, cleaning, etc., but this year I was physically unable. I wanted to make up for that, I wanted it to be a surprise, and taking her out to dinner just didn't seem like enough. I posted my situation on Thumbtack and Julian responded within 10 minutes. He offered two completely different dinner ideas, one American BBQ inspired and one Thai inspired. Considering we still have a fridge full of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, etc., I was thrilled to see Julian throw out an option that was so different than the food we had been eating. From the very beginning, Julian was super enthusiastic, and he really dove head first into the dinner plan. He was very communicative while shopping and didn't hesitate to take charge and throw ideas out there. I was happy to let him go for it and definitely was not disappointed with the results. He cooked an amazing Thai themed meal that was so refreshingly different, and he seemed to genuinely enjoy making it for us. Julian was on time and professional (but still casual enough given the intimate setting). He was very communicative and responsive leading up to the event, and he seemed perfectly at home in our kitchen within minutes of arriving. My impression of Julian is that he is a workhorse and someone who is lucky enough to be doing what he loves. He was absolutely the perfect fit for this project, and my wife and I would consider hiring Julian again for any catered event, big or small. Thanks again!

Julian and his team were fantastic!! Everyone showed up early, got right to work and were all very easy to work with. You could tell this wasn't their first rodeo either. Each of them knew what to be doing and needed no real direction they just knew what to do. Julian was even so great that I text him about 30 minutes before he was due to show up and asked if he could grab some last minute ingredients because we had grabbed the wrong kind and with out hesitation he did and was still early!! We will absolutely be using Julian and his team again!!

How did you get started doing this type of work?
Tending bar is a lot like working in a kitchen, only so much more; I get to cultivate not only a drink for my customer, but I am personally creating their entire experience. When you step up to my bar, not only do we share a good time, but you will have a very well executed cocktail pass through your lips.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I’ve worked for athletes, socialites, CEOs, I’ve done happy hours for tech companies, private New Year’s Eve parties, the list keeps going!
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I was lead bartender for this year's Oakland Pride party thrown on by benchandbar. We had a relatively full bar considering that it was a cash only block party, and it was quite a successful mission.
