The day after I submitted a request for more info from Seiscore and described the problem with my foundation, I received a phone call fom Joe. He asked me some relevant questions, which I answered. He then very clearly outlined his understanding of the problem and convincingly reassured me that the problem was soil settling (common in my area) ,that no work was now needed ,but might be in the future. I am incredibly grateful for their expertise. I initially contacted them to conduct an on-site inspection as part of my due diligence for purchasing a condo. My goal was to determine whether the property would qualify for a seismic retrofit.
Before the inspection, they reviewed a video walkthrough of the brick foundation and provided me with their honest assessment. They explained that the property was not a viable candidate for seismic retrofitting, which saved me from unnecessary inspection costs and helped me make the difficult decision to back out of the purchase.

Joe was incredible. I am purchasing a new home that may have some foundation issues. Wanted to get an Engineer’s eyes on it to make sure I know what I’m getting myself into.

We recently purchased a home and noticed some new cracks had formed around our bathroom doorframes. We also noticed that part of our floor was sagging slightly more, and were concerned that our foundation wasn't stable. Joe came and took a thorough look through our home, crawlspace, and our perimeter. He pointed out that our slanted floors were fairly minor, and that our foundation was solid and well prepared for an earthquake. He clearly explained why certain braces (which we had) were important and suggested improvements we could make to further strengthen our foundation. He also helped triage a leaking sewer pipe and minor pooling of water at our perimeter. Joe went above and beyond to ensure that we understood our home and felt safe. Though we didn't have any work done, I will contact Joe for future seismic work.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We offer a free phone consultation which allows us to better understand your unique needs and discuss any plans that you might have. Depending on the size of the project, the stage of the project and the timing of the project we do offer discounts. However our pricing will always be the most competitive in the market.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with a phone consultation and then determine whether the project requires a site visit. Upon seeing the sight and discussing the specific needs we will then draw up an estimate that will include any and all construction, engineering and design as necessary.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our team has advanced degrees from UC Berkeley. Montana State and University of San Francisco in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering and Construction Management. Combined, we have been helping owners around the Bay Area for 175 years We develop relationships with our customers so that they can understand their unique challenges and provide them with cost effective and long term solutions.
