FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am certified by American Translators Association (ATA), State of California, Judicial Council of California and Superior Court of California. Certification license has to be renewed every two years and too renew it certified translators and interpreters must comply with continuing education requirements up to 60 hours during the two-year period.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

When hiring a translator or interpreter, it is important to ask whether he/she is certified in the needed language. American Translators Association (ATA) certifies translators who provide written translation. It is especially important if you need translation of documents for a government agency, such as INS/USCIS, college or university, for courts, and for business purposes. Superior Courts certify interpreters who provide oral translation. It is important to use a certified interpreter if you need translation for INS interviews, court trials, depositions, or arbitration. Only an individual translator or interpreter (not an agency) can be certified.
