Introduction: I look at makeup as an artistic expression. To me, making up a face is like a painting, it's ultimately a work of art. Everybody can look gorgeous given the tricks of the trade. I have a strong passion for making people look the best they can look. I believe when we look good, we feel good. I am always learning something new about skin care, makeup, and new hair trends. What I love most about my job is that I get to share that information with my clients. It's a way I contribute something beautiful to other peoples lives. I strive to bring out the best features in my clients faces. I pride myself in being completely honest when it comes to skincare and makeup one should (and should not) be using.

Taylor did my make-up at my wedding on Martha's Vineyard. She is a very gifted make-up artist who I met on a film set, so I've seen her work in many different venues and on many different faces. She met with me for my wedding in advance to discuss the look I was hoping to go for, helped experiment with my hair style and generally gave me great advise. On my wedding day she appeared with all her tricks of the trade and did my hair (adding a floral touch I provided) and make-up. Here are two comments I got: " You look like you're 35" ( I was 50!!) and "Who's that?" (as I came down the aisle :) - Taylor is personable, professional, fun and very talented. She will make any bride look her very best as well as the bridal party.

I worked with Taylor Alderson for many years as a makeup and hair stylist for commercials. She is extraordinarily talented and gifted and has an excellent manner. She listens to the director and executes what they need at the same time making the talent comfortable and happy to go before the cameras. I can't recommend her enough. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's pretty simple....I charge about $75 and hour with a two hour minimum.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I continually look to beauty blogs, websites, makeup conventions, and fashion shows and editorials. Fashion magazines are also a great resource.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
A couple of deciding factorswere that I am an artist and I like people. As a makeup artist I get to both be creative and be engage with people. I have also always had a talent for making people look good, even before I was a professional makeup artist.
