In 1993, Recycling Works operated for business as a paper recycling firm, serving Bay Area commercial printers and large office buildings. Although business was brisk, it wasn't long till the principals at Recycling Works felt that there was an even bigger need in the community.
"We saw a dire demand for a local firm that could firmly shred confidential documents", said Richard Talvola, President of Shred Works.
So in 1995 with security in mind, Recycling Works bought a huge plant-based shredder, set up a most recent video monitoring security system, and Recycling Works was reborn as Shred Works.
Soon, Shred Works was servicing a broad range of customers, like healthcare facilities, banks and credit unions, mortgage and title companies, lawyers, accountants, retail facilities, small businesses, and almost any organization that needed to shred confidential information.
Along the way, Shred Works became recognized for a variety of key firsts, including these highlights:
- In 2003, we were the first plant-based shredding firm in the area to be recognized a AAA NAID credentials from the National Association for Information Destruction (we've maintained our certification ever since).
- Shred Works was also the premier area shredding company to double shred all confidential papers, virtually extinguishing any potential that shredded stuffs could be restored.
- Shred Works is the only and first area shredding company to offer a Three-Point Warranty, which includes a data security guarantee, a lifetime price freeze for all clients, and an On-Time or Shred for Free service assurance.
- Over the last 13 years, our reputation for impregnable shredding and recycling has grown, and our client list has flourished. What began as a one-truck, two-person paper recycling business has grown to 10 trucks and 20 full-time employees, all housed in a highly-secure, brand new, 20,000 square feet facility.
We thank all of our clients that have made our speedy growth possible and promise to continue our commitment that has yielded these amazing results.
51,378 tons of documents shredded and zero client files have been compromised!
