I posted on thumbtack to fix two light switches and install an outlet. Kevin was very responsive at first. He called within 15 mins of posting and offered to give me a free quote. The price was reasonable and he attempted to perform the work on the same day. However, he identified that one of the light fixture broke and suggested me to order a replacement. He would then come back to install it. However, when the light fixture arrived, I texted him. He promised to come on Thursday and then he never replied to me that day. I then followed up on Monday since Friday was a holiday. He replied me text in the morning and promised to come. I texted him a few times to ask for eta. He didn’t show up again and He texted me at 5:30 that he wasn’t able to make it. He offered to come on Wednesday and I agreed (because I already paid!). On Wednesday (today), I texted him multiple times to try to get an estimates but he did not reply texts or phone calls. I can’t wait for him at home everyday and just hope that he will show up. Update: he was sick that week and was able to perform the work on Thursday. His work was attentive. I gave him inaccurate information about existing electric line so he wasn’t able to perform the installation. He was patient and offered to come back without additional charge.
