FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Photography I capture is not a commodity. When you're recording precious memories, important milestones, or documenting events, it becomes uniquely yours. Most of the prices you see on Thumbtack are starting prices for a 1hr photo session. Image counts are not guaranteed as I deliver the images that best tell your story. That could be 50 photos or it could be 1000. The important part is that I capture the key moments that you will cherish. The $999 starting price for Weddings is for the Ceremony only 2 hours of coverage, with a single photographer. Clients typically spend $2999 or more for a full day of coverage. The $899 starting figure for Corporate Events is for the first hour. Clients typically spend $1799 or more for robust coverage covering multiple subjects and shooting scenarios. The $799 starting figure for Private Events is for the first hour. Clients typically spend $1299 or more for longer events, decor coverage, and time for portraits and group shots. Prices for all genres of photography are not determined by hours alone. Project scale, event type, service needs, and specific details determine the final rate. Search "Sean Wash Photo" on Google to find my website, The Knot, and Wedding Wire profiles for more information on pricing and services. Nearly all of my rates are custom-made based on my client's requirements. Engage with me in good faith, and I'm sure we can come to a mutually beneficial agreement. I offer discounts for early bookings of at least 30 days or more.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I am a collaborator at heart and I approach every project, as a creative partner with my client. It all starts with relationship building, having meetings to learn about each other, and starting the planning phases of the project. At a minimum, we have an introductory phone call, followed by another phone call to solidify the details of the shoot. However, I encourage my clients to keep in constant communication to ensure a stress-free, efficient but ultimately fun shooting day. I also use an application called Unscripted, where I will send my clients questionnaires, contracts, and invoices all in one place where both I and the clients can keep track of.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Before I was a photographer, I was a STEM/STEAM Educational Expert, Instructor, Curriculum Developer, and Manager. While working in the enrichment education sector, I developed lessons and courses on Photography, Digital Filmmaking, and Computer Animation. As for my education; I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Media Arts and Animation from the Art Institute of California, where I learned how to be a creative professional in a commercial space.
