FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Proofreading is charged per page (300 words per page). Developmental and line editing are billed hourly due to the depth of review involved. I typically request a 2–5 page sample to provide an accurate quote.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
There are some initial questions I would like you to answer if you are a new customer: 1. What type of editing service are you looking for (proofreading/copy editing/content editing)? 2. Do you have a date in mind for me to return the project? 3. What is the total final word count of the project? I would then ask you to send over a sample of the project (5 pages) You would receive the pricing information after I go over the sample. This would usually take up to 24 hours. The first edit consists of questions I have for you, comments, parts that need clarification in the document, and suggestions. You will receive a copy with all track changes and comments I have made. At this point, you can go over it and answer the questions/approve/add content. Once you return the first edit to me, I work on the final edit, which will be returned to you on the agreed turnaround date, if there is one.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I mostly work with college students, assisting their work at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels, ranging from class papers, literature reviews, and journal articles, to theses and dissertations. Apart from academia, I work with novelists and writers on editing and proofreading their much-loved manuscripts, from poems, short stories to 300+ page novels and single to volumes of non-fiction
