FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Most definitely!! It is a requirement!!!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was teased as a child about my skin color and my hair texture. I didn't feel or think I was pretty at all!! My eldest sister, put a perm in my hair and most of it fell out. I had to wear wigs at the age of 13. I used to take wigs apart and make some other style out of them attached to my own head of hair and was teased, badly! Still a little girl, my mother bought me a nail polish kit for my birthday. I was excited, you could mix and match and make your own colors. I later realized simple home toiletries were useful on the skin without chemicals and started experimenting with natural oils and plants. It also didn't hurt that my mother also sold Avon products. My mother constantly told me I was pretty, no matter what anyone else thinks and so, took me to John Robert Powers in Philadelphia, Pa and the Barbazon School of Etiquette, King of Prussia, Pa. Growing up in my late teens, I finally I looked inside myself and realized beauty comes from within and I can help someone else who feels/felt as I, feel better about themselves, too with a little assistance from me!
