I will be keeping Alex’s contact information for any future work needed! He responded quick, sent confirmation messages and performed quality work. He hung 6 large wall hangings at an office for me on the day and time of my choice. He was professional and accommodated working around our staff members. I would highly recommend Alex for his handyman services.

I have mixed feelings about working with Alex. Pros- very good communication. Confirmed prior to the appointment a couple of times which I really appreciated, was quick and timely with his responses. He was very flexible as I needed to pick up a TV for mounting, he was kind and met me at Best Buy so we could do that. However, I’m a little mixed about my experience. I compared a lot of quotes, a handyman that I often work with was going to charge 500 for all the work I had described that needed to be done. Alex was 75 per hour, with a three hour minimum, which I thought would be more than enough for the jobs I wanted. Very early on into mounting the TV, Alex had told me that the wall was hollow and that I needed a special type of anchor. He was going to charge me 40$ for four of them required to mount the TV when a pack of 10 at Home Depot is 13$. Home Depot is only about 6 minutes from my apartment so I decided to go myself and save some money. When I arrived, Alex called and told me that he needed some instruction or tips on how to install a bigger TV. Mine was 65’. He asked if I would get some advice from a Home Depot employee. I asked the Home Depot associate about installing a bigger TV on a hollow wall to which the associate said that the wall should have studs every 16 inches. I am no professional, but I was surprised when Alex told me my wall had no studs. After speaking to a couple other people, I called Alex to ask him if he was sure there were no studs. He said there were… which was news to me as he told my wall had no studs. He remarked that the studs were off center which wouldn’t have been a big deal as I got a TV mount with full motion. I decided to skip buying the dry wall anchors and just have him install the TV on the studs which is what I initially planned for. When I got back, he had already drilled, which again was a bummer. He told me had already done a lot of work, and said it would be fine. I asked him if he would do 30$ for the four anchors instead of 40, which I was not happy to pay since there were studs, but again, didn’t want to fight about it. I decided not to fight him about it and let it go. We only got done about 1/3 of my projects done. And with the exception of the Best Buy pick up, he was there for 3 1/2 hours. In addition, I noticed after TV was mounted that it was much higher on the wall than we had agreed. But he had drilled when I was gone, so I was unaware at the time. The curtain rod he hung was also much higher than I had requested. By the time he finished with the few tasks I had, we were at the four hour mark and I didn’t want to spend anymore money. I spent basically 400$ when all was said and done for the three hours of work, the anchors, and a tip. I’m disappointed by my experience and a little saddened to have had it. I only saved 100$ using Alex and will likely have to spend more hiring someone to move the TV down, and do the rest of my projects. Oh well. Again, super nice guy. Very communicative. Just maybe not a good fit?

Alexei agreed to do a minor job right before the holiday. He didn't have the right ladder, but came back on the Fourth of July with the ladder he needed and quickly finished the work. I appreciate that he followed up even when there were difficulties.
