FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It was between Medical School and Graduate School for music. I did an internship in Plastic Surgery and all I could think of all day was the music I was working on and how soon I would get to go work on it. That being said, I still love medicine and read journals for fun, but I don't regret for one day being a harpist and business person.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Weddings, International Recitals, Private Lessons, College Prep
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
To play for an hour at an event or teach a student for an hour at a lesson, it takes hours and hours of specific preparation and years/ decades of background preparation. Many people hire musicians and think they are just child care providers or someone to sit behind a pretty instrument, but to become a professional musician requires decades of practice and competition at the highest levels and then continuous work to keep skills fresh. In addition, each student/ event brings its' own challenges that require reflection and many times rewriting/ editing music or a program.
