Mary was pivotal to two remodeling projects we did over the course of a couple years. She’s very patient and the right amount of prescriptive in the design process, and we arrived at a great blend of things we knew we wanted and things we had no idea we wanted. I particularly valued her advice and coaching through the remodel process; while she was not our project manager, she helped us understand the best way to manage our contractor and architect, and made time to meet with them and make sure they executed precisely to the design. We wish we had involved Mary earlier in the whole process! Highly recommended for your major remodel team!

We loved working with Mary. The design for our laundry room was fun, and just what we wanted. The project grew in scope (had to renovate our entire bottom floor), and there were delays (not related to Mary), but she was with us every step of the way. We were pleased with the process and outcome.

Mary was actually early for our appointment. Our design session was educational and informative. Mary’s suggestions made a lot of sense and her recommendations for paint color , floor selection and furniture placement were spot on. My wife and I are eager to try our “new look” in our house. Mary helped me with redecorating my living room. The whole project was a breeze from start to finish. The best part about working with Mary is that she listens to what you want, understand your needs and creates space that you envisioned. When we first discussed the budget, she broke down all components for me in $ value and gave me a very close estimate of what I would be putting in. She doesn't try to push you to do what you don't want yet is not shy to tell you if something doesn't fit well in the overall scheme of things. Her design boards helped me in visualizing the end result and made shopping for items super easy. Her turn around time is quick, I never felt that she was hesitant in making changes that I needed. The whole space reflects me, but is very well put together, all thanks to Mary. I recommended her to my friends and they are super happy with the bathroom she designed for them. FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most projects are charged at an hourly rate of $175. A typical kitchen project is 40 hours, and a bathroom at 30 hours. A redesign of a living room, bedroom etc at 30 hours.
We do offer a design only flat rate service which includes at least one layout of a space along with dimensions for $3500. Material selection is not included.
Lastly, our in home two hour consultation could be the answer to an existing design dilemma, or the kick start to a DIY project. We will walk through your home with you offering all of my suggestions and answering your existing questions. This meeting is followed up by a written summary along with up to 5 linked examples of items we recommend for your home. This service is $850
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After having a chat about the project via phone or email, an in home consultation is typically scheduled. After the consultation I start creating design boards and/or 3D drawings for my clients to see how things will look together and to help make decisions on what pieces to start purchasing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Certified in Kitchen & Bathroom design. Sustainable design, Space Planning, Architectural Drafting, Lighting Design, Modern Furniture, Color concepts, materials & finishes, and Staging.
Proficient in Sketchup, auto CAD, and Chief Architect, design software programs.
