Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I cater to my clients' individual strengths, difficulties, preferences etc. for best results and the most comfort by modifying exercises and using inventive props. Even in my group classes (up to 4 people) I design the movements/exercises based on the abilities and preferences of the participants. It's very rewarding to see my clients starting to feel better, stronger, and continue improving!

Olga and her classes are the best. I sit at a desk all day and both the movement lessons and Pilates are excellent to get myself back in alignment. Perhaps most importantly is the impact outside of the classes. I have become much more aware aware of how I hold tension in my shoulders and am able to self correct before it becomes painful, I would recommend her classes to everyone!

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I always keep an eye open for any good classes, trainings to help me become a better practitioner. I have recently completed a class from a Feldenkrais teacher Larry Goldfarb in Santa Cruz, CA.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

First time I tried Pilates when I was looking for safe and gentle prenatal exercise for myself and since then I was hooked. Soon after the birth of my son I enrolled in the Pilates certification program. Since I started teaching, it has been very rewarding working with my clients and helping them. Some years later, in an attempt to find help for a family member with severe chronic pain and repeated injuries I have heard of the Feldenkrais Method. After some research and being completely blown away by my findings I have started a 3 year long training program in the Anat Baniel Method (evolution of Feldenkrais Method). Since then, I have been able to help many clients (adults and kids), some of my family members, friends, and myself.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I have started working with J., a 19 months old girl with autism, over a year ago. When her parents first brought her to me, she was just diagnosed and they were looking to try ABM lessons. When we started lessons, J. was pretty wobbly on her feet, walking slowly and cautiously and she couldn't run or climb things. Her speech was delayed: she only made a few sounds, like "ba-ba-ba". J. also did not make and avoided any eye contact, didn't answer when her name was called, and generally didn't pay attention to her surroundings and her family and other people. She also didn't express her emotions when appropriate, like when another kid would take away her toy or if someone bumped into her on the playground or if her mom left her in a room with a strange person like a therapist. J. has started learning and improving right away as we started lessons. It has been an amazing journey and today, I am very happy to say, that she has showed outstanding progress in all areas. J. now has a very good coordination (able to walk, run, climb playground equipment, throw/catch a ball, put jigsaw puzzle pieces together), she speaks and understands two languages with a decent vocabulary for a 33 months old. J. now has a long eye contact and plays interactive games. She responds to her name, can answer simple questions and conveys her likes/dislikes very clearly with gestures and words. J. now expresses her emotions like laughing when she's playing a game or crying when her parents leave the room. She even sings well using correct lyrics and carrying a correct tune!
