I began ballroom dance lessons with the owners of Dance Vita in San Mateo many years ago when they were based in San Francisco. I was very happy to follow them to this San Mateo location and have been taking lessons with them here since the studio opened. It is a very professional yet friendly atmosphere for learning dance. The instruction is of the highest quality and the pricing is very reasonable for this area. The studio has a great family feeling as everyone gets to know everyone else (including all the kids and their parents) which leads to a very supportive environment. There is also a following of social dancers and wedding dance couples that is very popular here. By the way, there is lots of onsite parking which is a great time saver! Can't recommend this studio highly enough!

My fiancee and I booked dance lessons a few months before our wedding. Neither of us had ever danced for an audience before so we didn't know a thing about choreography or feeling comfortable moving. We ended up working with Sophie who we really enjoyed working with. Sophie helped us narrow down a song based on a shortlist we had ready. We then spent our lessons learning new moves and really practicing the fundamentals all while piecing together a choreography that worked really well with us. Sophie was really patient with us and was a wonderful teacher who made sure we walked away with material to review, homework, and great guidance on how to have fun on the dance floor.

Me and my husband came to Dance Vita for our Wedding Dance. We were offered one complimentary lesson to make sure that we get the best match with an instructor who will reflect our needs. And we did! So after that lesson we proceed with their Wedding Package. During our four lessons we got choreography matching our music choice. We did Waltz and loved it. Our teacher was very patient and really got some dance steps out of us! We came with no experience and leaving the studio as a dancer was amazing feeling. I highly recommend to prepare for your wedding moment with them! It was a lot of fun.

I have been going to Dance Vita for almost 5 years and professionalism and personal focus are the qualities that best describe Dance Vita for me. The reception staff is personable and proactive to set you up with the best teacher and program for your needs. The teachers are Dance Vita are simply amazing. They are simply the best. They are passionate, competitive career dancers that are sharing a lifetime of dedication and focus with their students. The Owners are passionate about building a AA world-class studio for kids, adult competitors and Social classes alike. Their schedule is packed and well rounded in styles. Whether you are a seasoned competitor, or practicing for a wedding, or out on a first date taking a Social class, you will be challenged, delighted and in the best of hands at Dance Vita.
