Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am a retired licensed general contractor. I specialize in trim these days. My charges for baseboard and casing are from $2.00 to $4.50 per linear foot. That's when the stock is primed, painted in place on clear floors and rooms. Price really depends on conditions and type of trim. Crown molding ranges from $5 to $7 per foot. I charge a $240.00 minimum on base and casing, $280.00 minimum on crown molding. I will come take a look and give a price if the job is not too far away. Because I am a one-man operation, my overhead is low, but I can handle many of the projects general contractors do. I keep the job site clean and safe, always protecting finished surfaces in my work area. I am punctual and reliable. I do my utmost to do the job without shortcuts, preventing call backs.

Trim or Molding Installation

My husband and I spoke with about 3 moulding installers and was absolutely impressed with John's knowledge and we hired him. His work and price value is 2nd to none. He did an excellent job. Kept his work area clean and knew exactly what he was doing and brought our crown moulding project to a beautiful finish. We highly recommend him. Mr. & Mrs. John & Dawn Wright. Anaheim

Trim or Molding Installation

John is just the best. He installed several hundred feet of baseboards and window and door casings for me. He also put up several shiplap walls, and built me some incredible built-in benches and cabinet tops. He was absolutely key to my project success and I’m certain I’ll work with him again. His attention to detail and quality workmanship is hard to find these days. I would give him 10 stars if I could. He’s also great to have around the project site for general advice given his many years of experience in building and carpentry.

Trim or Molding Installation

He was on time and did a fairly good job on the molding. Our home is large and it took him more time than he estimated, as well as, more money than estimated. He did clean up the pieces of molding and dust off the floors. I do wish I had followed him around while he was painting, so I would have cleaned the paint that dripped on the walls, right away. I can’t get the paint to wipe off the walls in some places. He is very pleasant and works by himself.

Trim or Molding Installation

Hello, John was recently hired to install custom baseboards to our Tustin Ranch home. First off let me say, John was kind, courteous, and very professional. He showed up on time, respected our home and completed the task on schedule. John’s work exceeded our expectations. I wish there were more people like John, we look forward to hiring him for more projects in the near future. Sincerely, Jim

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My pricing is very simple. I bill at $2 to $7 per linear foot (depending on the size of the job) and charge for materials purchased. Sometimes I will add a bit for a long commute.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Hopefully the customer has looked at my profile, read reviews and looked the pictures I have posted. I usually come to the job to observe the conditions and find out the scope of work. I give them a price.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Trained under a master carpenter for two years in the 70's, and studied and received my contractor's license in 1980's. Have been on the job for 40 years.
