Carmen is a very good and competent teacher. She works with your schedule and effectively demonstrates violin techniques.

Ms. Carmen knows her stuff and makes classes intimate, challenging, and fun. My child came in a few years with all kinds of enthusiasm but some sloppy habits she'd picked up elsewhere. Ms. Carmen worked with her to iron those out while nurturing the motivation. Now I feel she's straddled an important hump and is really taking off. She's joined a youth orchestra and is keen to practice regularly and perform on her own. Highly recommended! Thanks Ms. Carmen!

Carmen clearly and effectively gives you the tools you need to improve and encourages you to do so for its own sake. She makes sure that in the long run you are capable of practicing smart enough to produce meaningful and self-rewarding performances. Thanks to her guidance and the work ethic and self-motivation she instilled in me, I was able to become one of the top musicians in my school orchestras and join the Orange County Youth Symphony Orchestra to tour Spain.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

First 45 minute lesson is free. I believe it is essential for the student and teacher to meet first to discuss goals and expectations for the year. My pricing is based on an hour basis but highly suggest 45 or and hour lesson weekly. My pricing is $150 for 45min lessons once a week and $200 for an hour once a week. My pricing includes travel time and gas expenses and well as my own expertise and training.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I analyze their playing if they have already some experience or if they are brand new we start right away with learning how to bow on the violin.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Masters of Music in Violin Peformance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music.
