Please do research on the attorney you are planning to hire by looking up his or her disciplinary record on www.calbar.org to make sure s/he is licensed. In the field of immigration, attorneys can practice anywhere in the country if s/he is licensed in any state, so you should look him/her up in the state in which s/he is licensed if it is not California.
