- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We begin with a conversation about you: what the photographs are for, the feeling you want, and anything that makes you nervous about being photographed. We agree on the session details and costs before booking. At the shoot, I start with simple posing direction and build from there. I guide your posture, weight, hands and expression while handling the lighting and composition. The aim is to help you become comfortable enough that your personality can flow naturally.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from California State University, Northridge in 2016, completing a series of advanced photography courses as part of my degree and working on the college newspaper. My background is in editorial portraiture, including more than ten years of conducting test shoots for modeling agencies. Working with new models honed my ability to explain posing clearly: how to straighten posture, distribute weight, place hands naturally, and use expression and body language to convey different feelings. I bring that same patient, detailed guidance to clients with any level of camera experience.
