Had couple of classes. Teacher is good, knows her subject.
I must say I am extremely happy with the quality of service from Arbor Tutors from the first phone call through the tutoring sessions. We were given our choice between a couple of different tutors. High quality.
I had Leigh as my english teacher for almost an year. When I first start class I couldn't speak any English, I had never study English before not even at school. She have a holly patience, she really insist on getting from us the right pronunciation. She made so playful classes so it was always a pleasure to participate. She gave me confidence in myself, in my capacities on learning, she is without doubts one of the best teachers I had in my life, the kind you can't forget because has done so much for you. I can only say that she is very concerned about her students and if you think taking classes with her I can guarantee you will make great progress and you will enjoy studying English.
Tim was a great teacher for me! He was easy to talk to,understood my questions, and helped me improve my weak points. After working with him for a few months, I was able to understand a lot of the material provided in the SAT test and improve a lot on my practice test. Overall, Tim is a great teacher for learning how to improve your English , especially to prepare for SAT test.
I took few classes from Chris last year and I must say that it has been phenomenal. Chris has got an amazing depth on different accents, language and grammar. I improved my accent a lot by learning some techniques. I will recommend Chris to anyone who is looking for accent reduction or adopt a different accent or simply talk in the public.
Jason is a very skilled teacher, having very creative techniques, metaphors and diagrams to make the learning process easier. After couple classes with Jason I've felt much more aware of my weaknesses, strengths and have found more clearly where should I focus my energy to fix mistakes, not only in formal english, but also in how should I express myself in ordinary conversations. I'd recommend him for any esl student - mostly for brazilians - as he lived in Brazil in the past, he is able to identify very easily the most common portuinglês problems.

Hi, students, this is your teacher Jie. I am originally from China and recently got my master's degree from MAT-TESOL program in USC. I have 4-year tutoring and teaching experience in precollege preparation tests, including TOEFL and SAT. So, if your goal is to ace these tests and get admitted to your dream school, it is my goal too, and I am here to push, support and help. Moreover, if you are an international student from China, then don't hesitate to contact me immediately. Back in China, I worked as a TOEFL writing teacher for about 2 years in Beijing New Oriental Education & Technology Group Inc. Later on, while getting my master's degree in USC, I have also been working as a senior advisor in Beijing Aoji Education Group since Jan. 2014. Last year, I guided more than 20 students applying for different short-term and long-term studying programs in the U.S., including UCLA Extension Language Center, Stanford Summer School and USC Language Center. Also, in application season, I helped students successfully get admitted by different undergraduate or transferring programs in different 4-year universities, including top-tier universities like CMU, USC, UC-Berkeley, University of Michigan and so on. All of my students consider me to be a reliable and trustworthy resource. Here in U.S., two-year professional training in MAT-TESOL program in USC not only helped me develop a systematical understating of various pedagogical theories in ESL education, but also provided me with different practical opportunities where I could practice my classroom management skills and specific teaching techniques in real ESL classroom scenarios. From my interns in East Los Angeles Occupational School and Roosevelt Community Adult School, I got more familiar with communicative language teaching methods and developed my curriculum design ability based on student-centered teaching ideology, which I considered as my biggest harvest from the program. So, don't worry! My class will never get you bored: You will enjoy your high-pressure learning and get your score as high as possible.
