Cindy is an absolute visionary. I am a senior in high school, and I met Cindy a few months before I began this school year. My strengths academically are mainly in reading, writing, social studies, and philosophy, but Cindy has enhanced my knowledge and appreciation for mathematics, science, and my capabilities in problem solving as a whole. When I first met Cindy, I was in desperate need of a math tutor, but what I received was more than I could have ever imagined. Aside from her outstanding mathematical capabilities, Cindy has served as my mentor, ultimate problem solver, entrepreneurial guru, and ultimate inspiration throughout my college prep and application process. As a fellow performer, and actress, Cindy also has helped me explore my passion for theatre, and expand it to become a flourishing intrigue with anthropology, psychology, and motivational speaking. She is literally the reason that I am now travelling as a motivational speaker/ Body Positive facilitator to youth, ranging from middle school to high school. In offering her invaluable time, ambitious mindset, and incredibly compassionate demeanor, she has allowed me to find my true passions, and encourage others to do the same. Furthermore, Cindy is beyond this world amazing. Whether to call her an angel, an oracle, a goddess, a reincarnated Albert Einstein, or any other form of awe, I am not worthy to concretely say. However, I can attest that Cindy has absolutely changed my vision for myself and the world around me, my societal views and aspirations, as well as having enhanced my mathematical and test taking capabilities. Truly, Cindy is the most wonderful, kind, creative, talented, and intelligent essence, one could ever hope to meet or aspire to become.Nov 13, 2017Rainbow EDU Consulting & Tutoring's reply
Jess, thank you immensely for your beautiful and kind words! It is truly an honor getting to know you and collaborate with you on your mathematical, theatrical, entrepreneurial, college-bound, enlightening journey…all the while getting to witness your passion and growth, celebrating all your remarkable endeavors. You are such an inspiration and will make an invaluable contribution to any college community that is lucky enough to have you.
Cindy and everyone at Rainbow tutoring are some of the kindest individuals I have met. The wisdom Cindy bestowed on me while helping me through my college application process will be with my forever and I am so grateful. Cindy helped me figure out what I wanted in my college experience and gave me the tools to get myself there. She introduced schools that I wouldn't have seen myself at and helped me get myself to Santa Clara University. She is beyond inspirational and such an empowering woman that is a role model to any and all of her clients. Cindy and her team are smart, dedicated, and reliable- they are always able to help and are great mentors to have before going off out of high school and into a college or real life environment. Cindy especially is very clear and really walks you through the steps to understanding in both Math, Writing, and the SAT Prep. I am so thankful to have met and able to work with you guys !Mar 31, 2016
Cindy was incredibly helpful with finding the right Chemistry tutor, Riley, for my daughter, literally a day before a big test came up, and she passed the test with flying colors. Cindy is very kind and caring, and is passionate about her job- she understands that hiring a tutor with just a great bio does not necessarily mean they can teach, as has been our experience. She made sure Riley was the right match for my daughter. I strongly recommend contacting Cindy for any tutoring needs- we are already seeing the results in just days of meeting her.Feb 7, 2018VerifiedRainbow EDU Consulting & Tutoring's reply
Aviva, thank you for the wonderful review! Looking beyond credentials is important when researching a tutor, and I'm so glad to hear Riley is making a meaningful impact in your daughter's studies.
Cindy Chanin understands the testing and admission process like no other. She has an extensive professional background and helped us navigate the high school admission process for our daughter, like a Ninja! Cindy invested her time and energy into our daughter and took it upon herself to get to know her. She was able to decipher what kind of learner she was and which of her tutors would be a good fit for her. For the weeks that we worked with Rainbow EDU, Cindy called everyday. She wanted feedback about the tutoring sessions and wanted our daughter to feel confident and empowered. Cindy is a student advocate and coach. Much, much more than a tutor. This is a full service operation...the real deal. Cindy Chanin...Rainbow EDU...I just lucked out...hope you do too!Feb 4, 2018VerifiedRainbow EDU Consulting & Tutoring's reply
Star, thanks for the review! It has been an absolute delight working with A. and your family. I am excited for her to embark upon high school and all the opportunities that await!
I can't say emphatically enough how much my son gained from Rainbow: he took the Paving the Way to College workshop and used Rainbow tutors to prep for college entrance exams. A special shout out to Joe, who always made time and was so encouraging. The results speak for themselves: my son ultimately got to choose from numerous terrific colleges. Thank you, Rainbow!Apr 9, 2016
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? We have two fee schedules. The first details prices for work with the majority of our educators, and the other details prices for work with myself, the Director, and a few of our Senior Consultants. While we do offer hourly rates, most of our customers who work with us for multiple sessions choose to purchase a value package, which offers a substantial savings. Please inquire for more information!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? Before we start working with a student(s), we like to get a sense of their educational background, their interests, and their goals. We really like to get to know them -- where they've struggled, where they thrive, and what they value. Using this information, we design a unique plan-of-action, which is designed to be most effective for them as an individual. Next, we match them with one of our educators. This process ensures that each student works with a great educator and mentor, not just another tutor.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have personally experienced virtually every possible educational environment. I went to private school, performing arts school, Jesuit school, a Jewish day school, a cutthroat public high school, and an Ivy League University. While working toward multiple degrees at Yale University and the University of Southern California (USC), I studied psychology, theater, mathematics, and comparative literature. I am Phi Beta Kappa as well as an Irlen Syndrome certified screener for students who have learning differences, visual processing, and/or ADD. I also worked in admissions at both Yale and USC.
