Music With Joy

I offer fun and creative private piano and guitar lessons for students ages 6 and up with a free trial lesson! I also specialize in teaching songwriting and music production/technology. I teach classical, jazz and pop and lessons can include ear training, and music theory. I am a very dedicated and experienced music teacher with lots of energy and enthusiasm. I am a Grammy voting member, and I have a MA in music education from Seattle Pacific University and a BA from the University of Washington. I have been teaching piano and running my own studio now for 15 years. I've also taught music at Portland Public Schools and private schools in both San Francisco and Seattle. I love what I do, and I am currently accepting students of all ages and ability levels. I keep my music studio small to provide a high-quality experience for each student. I foster a positive, warm, and encouraging teaching environment where lessons are customized to meet each student's personal needs. Students have the opportunity to perform at our annual recital! In addition to teaching, I'm also a professional film and video game composer as well as a recording artist. I have toured the US, sold out shows at iconic LA venues such as the hotel cafe, and my record "Midnight" was on the 2019 first-round GRAMMY ballot.
