My son was really struggling with math and biology class. With English as my secondlanguage, I wasn’t able to help him with his homework and studying. My friend recommended Ms.Garcia because she can teach both subjects. From the first lesson, she took great care for my son’s education and made sure my son understood the subject thoroughly. Ms.Garcia would set up meetings on the phone to clear him up on any problems he had trouble solving. Not only is she a great tutor, she was in a way, an adviser for his college education. Ms. Garcia also gave numerous helpful advice about college applications and SATs. She always encouraged my son to give his 100% on everything and to never give up. She was one of the most important factors that helped my son get through the busy college application process and to land numerous college acceptances. Me and my son are very grateful for what she has done for him. I would very much recommend her as your tutor.

Cecilia has been an amazing tutor. She helped me through out high school with math and she always understood my concepts and made sure I did. She always worried and cared for me and my education. I feel blessed that I had a tutor that helped me improve so much in my academic process.

Maria is amazing! I would have given her 5 stars on all the options, but the site won't allow me. She helped my son so much through chemistry and Algebra 2. She is thorough, patient, and caring. Maria has a unique way of making sure each student understands the material, and she understands that every student learns differently. I would definitely use her again and recommend her to others!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I usually quote a base price per session, but I also offer discounts packages for long term tutoring lessons.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
At the beginning I try to get acquainted with the student and find their learning style (visual, auditory, verbal,etc).
I reinforce the concepts they know, and use it as a platform to introduce new ideas and knowledge.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received a Master in Science in Chemistry from Texas Tech University.
I worked as a teaching assistant when I was an undergraduate and during my graduate years.
I have attended educational workshops and conferences.
I belong to the ACS ( American Chemical Soc.) which provides seminars and webinars on a regular basis (weekly).
American Association of Chemistry Teachers (AACT) presents webinars monthly.

Also through Edutopia I attend educational webinar periodically.
I have attended " Better California" workshop conference for teachers in July 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
