Finding your voice - Self-Aware Voice Training

Hello there! I'm Suzanne :) Everyone can sing. What often holds us back isn’t ability, it’s tension, self-doubt, and internal narratives that disconnect us from our authentic voice. After over 10 years of teaching singers from all walks of life, I’ve found that vocal blocks are often deeply linked to how we see ourselves. When those internal barriers are addressed, not only does the voice open but expression, confidence, and ease follow. This work is for singers and artists who want more than just “better technique”, they want to feel free, embodied, and fully expressed in their voice. What makes this different from a regular voice lesson? This is still real vocal training warm-ups, exercises, and working on songs. What’s different is the self-awareness woven into the work. We gently identify and release: - Habitual tension (physical or emotional) - Self-censorship and limiting beliefs - Patterns that keep the voice stuck or guarded This is often the missing piece that allows technique to finally land. My approach: - Exploration We get to know your voice, goals, and any patterns that may be holding you back. - Technique & Release Mindful warm-ups and vocal exercises build freedom, control, and confidence. - Self-Awareness We notice inner narratives and gently reframe or release what no longer serves your voice. Breakthroughs big and small are supported and celebrated. About Suzanne Suzanne May is a professional voice instructor with over 10 years of experience, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts. She is also a singer-songwriter who actively performs, writes, and records music, applying the same embodied, holistic techniques she teaches. Through her own vocal journey, Suzanne discovered that lasting vocal growth happens when technique and self-awareness meet. She has guided many singers to greater freedom, confidence, and expression by honoring the voice as deeply connected to the whole person.
