Alan was very meticulous especially during prep, from power washing, sanding, to patching areas. He was great with communicating his availability and completed the job very quickly. We highly recommend him.

Alan did an outstanding job of painting my floor to seal in pet odors, and he also painted my living room/dining room ceiling. Alan is extremely professional, conscientious, dependable, and is a wonderful painter.
I will definitely use Alan in the future for all of my painting needs!
Also, the cost for his services was very reasonable, and he was a pleasure to work with!
I can honestly say that Alan was one of the nicest and best vendors I've hired in recent years, and am so happy that Thumbtack offered his services to me!
Floor Painting or Coating

We hired Alan for two jobs separated by a few years. The first was hole repair, patchwork, and painting (to match existing colors) when we first moved into our residence. Alan did a great job with smooth repairs to the plaster, and matching colors where we didn't have left over cans of original paint. We were quite happy with his work.
The second job a few years later was more extensive. We hired Alan to paint new colors in four rooms and hallways (with patchwork as needed), to re-mount medicine cabinets in the bathroom, and to put up new sheet rock around a new electrical panel installation. We were very pleased with Alan's work. He is detail-oriented with all aspects of the job. Alan does convincing patchwork with both drywall and plaster, and is very careful when painting. There was furniture in the rooms for this second job so Alan had to work around it and protect it with plastic sheets and drop cloths.
Other aspects in working with Alan we valued were:
1) He wrote accurate contract estimates up front so there was no ambiguity at the end of the job.
2) We were able to trust him with a key to the house to do the work while no one was home.
We would definitely work with Alan again when the opportunity arises.

I was given Alan's name by a good friend from my church. In late 2014 I asked him to paint the back of my house. The job was done on schedule and within the quote he provided. In 2015 I got a quote from him to paint the front of my house. Again, the job was done when promised and within budget. He even attached a flag pole holder outside my front door. Now, I fly not only the American and California flag but I can now fly my Halloween and thanksgiving flags as well! Very pleased.
