Ann E. says, "I had two issues with my 25-year-old furnace that needed fixing, so I contacted three HVAC companies on Thumbtack. Rittinger Heating and Cooling LLC was the first to call back, so I scheduled an appointment for a technician, Alan Orozco, to come out that afternoon to investigate. Alan was punctual, attentive, and very knowledgeable. He quickly diagnosed my thermostat issue and let me know I needed a new one, since the display was no longer working on the old one. I gave Alan a rundown of the history of the issue I was having with the furnace: after turning it on, it would cycle a few times and reach the set temperature, but then it would eventually blow cold air and stop reaching the set temperature. Alan turned on the furnace, tested all the connections, and checked that it was operational. Since everything else checked out (no error codes), he deduced that the motor was most likely the issue, which seemed in line with the furnace being on the older side. He gave me a quote, which I approved, and I paid a down payment for the motor. The part was available the following day, and Alan installed the motor and thermostat in a little more than an hour. He tested the function of both the thermostat and furnace, and both work great — the new motor is remarkably quieter than the old one, too. I also asked Alan about eventually replacing the furnace with a heat pump HVAC system. He gave me an intro rundown on the different types of systems, duct vs ductless, etc. that are available which was very informative. I would recommend Rittinger Heating and Cooling to anyone needing HVAC repair or a new installation."See more

System does seem louder than we expected and is louder than the unit that was replaced, but we were told that the loudness of the blower motor may quiet down in time. We were also told that someone would come by and check to make sure temperature of air coming from the vents is what it should be. Hopefully that is still to be done."See more

He checked both crawl spaces and the attic for evidence of entry before he even gave me an estimate. As for the work, he sealed all the ingress points, got rid of any debris, taped up the duct system if it had damaged or hanging insulation, sanitized the area, and set traps to check two weeks hence. His guys worked hard and were very clean. They put down plastic on the floors and it doesn't look like they were ever here. I hope we don't see any mice or rats as a result of their work inside or outside the home again."See more
