Introduction: I was a Mandarin teacher in China for over 20 years. I have been a Chinese tutor for 10 years since I moved to San Francisco Bay Area. I teach both children and adults. I teach in many companies around bay area. I am very professional. I have my teaching materials，and I also create an online "class" on Quizlet to help students review. My students are in different Chinese level. They have been making a lot of progress with me.

My 5 year old and 8 year old have been learning with Lillian for 8 months now. I’m so happy with their progress and their initiative in learning Chinese language and culture. Lillian does a great job on getting the kids attention and interest throughout her teaching. They can now exchange simple conversations with Chinese speaking people and they always get complimented on saying the right things! I would highly recommend Lillian for any parent that want their kids to start learning Chinese at a young age.

I have been taking lessons with Lillian for more than 1 year and I have to say, she is seriously the best! Not only is she super professional and knowledgeable about the language and culture, but she's also really great at explaining things in a way that makes sense. Plus, she's super patient and always willing to answer my questions. I always feel cheered and encourages with her enthusiasm for teaching. She really helped me so much more than just the language. One of the things I love most about her is that she's able to make learning Chinese fun and engaging. She’s like a friend, singing Chinese songs with me and sharing her homemade Chinese food! I was honestly a little intimidated to start learning a new language, but she's made it such a positive experience for me. I feel like I'm making progress and actually enjoying the process.

I have been a student of Lillian's almost since the start of the covid pandemic. I was thrilled when I made a business trip to Taiwan in July 2022 and I was able to hold basic conversations and do fun things like order and pay for food at the night markets. I also visited Taipei zoo with a friend and his young kids and I could chat with the kids about the animals in the zoo.

My son has been taking lessons with Youlian for the last 3 months and we could not be happier. The lessons are engaging, even over zoom, and he's continued to progress every week. He enjoys practicing and looks forward to the classes. I would highly recommend Youlian as a tutor!

Youlian has been fantastic! My favorite thing about her lessons has been how I started speaking from the very first lesson! Youlian follows the official Berlitz curriculum, so it's very well thought-out, but she supplements it with extra pronunciation drills and Pinyin work which has helped a lot with my Chinese friends actually following along with what I am saying!
