A customer must take into account the types of techniques that may be utilized by the trainer. Using physical force to achieve the wanted behavior can achieve negative results, if not worsen the behavior. We have learned a lot about canine behavior since the mid 20th century regarding compulsion-based training and have come up with better resulting techniques which eliminates the use of applying physical force.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
One thing customers should be aware of is that any behavior issues, deemed problematic, isn't a quick fix. When trying to change the dog's perception of a certain behavior, it's going to take time and patience because we are teaching dogs a new behavior at a kindergarten pace.
