FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We have two ways to structure our payments and pricing. The first is a per-project bid. These are for easily understood stand-alone projects that we can guess with a fair degree of accuracy how long they'll take. On these types of projects, we do usually do a 50% down payment and another 50% payment upon the completion of and deliver of the project. The second is an hourly arrangement for projects that are difficult to estimate. For these projects we provide daily updates on progress and hours, generating invoices at the end of each work week. Our rates for both of these types of projects depend on the work involved.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As the advocate for the client, I try to keep a user-focused view on the web and web technologies. Clients don't want to know whether you used node.js or backbone.js to build a module on their site, they just want something that works well and looks great. So that's what I look for - web experiences that are sleek, easy to use and a joy to interact with.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I would actually say this work chose me. After great experiences with Disney, Activision and THQ, I started to grow tired of creating idle entertainment, so I accepted a project management role at a startup creating a kids-safe web browser. I loved working with a team of talented designers and developers to create a product that was going to help kids and families around the world. Later, I helped create a few different small business marketing solutions for businesses in the Conejo Valley. When the opportunity presented itself to represent Kroon Studio, I realized it was a cool amalgamation of all of my prior work experience and I would be able to focus on what I enjoyed best - working with clients and making them extremely happy.
