Hired on Thumbtack
DXJ gave me a thumbtack estimate of $12/ sq ft for broom finish concrete work. After explaining a requirement of the job is a current license (a C-8 or at the very least a C-27 in California), the estimate doubled to $24/ sq ft. Don’t let this company take you for a fool. I’m having the job done by an excellent contractor with a C-8 license for under $12/sq ft. Do your research and don’t let companies insult you while stuffing their pockets.
Details: Replace existing concrete • Patio or porch • 500 - 1,000 sq ft • Home
DXJ Services Inc's reply
Hello,
This review demonstrates a clear misunderstanding of concrete work in California. A licensed contractor pulling permits for legitimate work cannot realistically charge under $12 per square foot those numbers simply don’t add up given labor, materials, and compliance costs. Additionally, it’s important to note that a C-27 license is specific to landscaping and does not legally authorize concrete construction, which falls under a different classification. We at DXJ are professional experts in our time and craft and we guarantee only the highest quality of work.
