I had a bad water leak somewhere outside that caused water to soak the front yard, pool at the driveway and run down the street. Water bill was outrageous! On April 19, 2017, I called the water company and they sent someone out. He said there was a leak at the main water valve and pipe outside and I should also have someone check one of the toilets in the house. He advised I not call a plumber (as they would charge too much) but to get a handyman. I didn't have nor knew of one.
I got on the computer and started my search. I found "Thumbtack", sent my message and within 3 minutes Jeronimo replied. I tried to describe the problem in writing. He wrote back "it's ok, just give me the address". He was here in less than an hour. He took a look at the water valve and also discovered I had a crack in the toilet. He quoted a very fair price for repair, made a trip to the store and within 2 hours the repair to the water valve and pipe was done. He removed the toilet and capped the pipe.
The water from the toilet had done damage to the tile, subflooring and sheetrock. I asked if he could repair that. He quoted a very good price for his labor and I was to paid for the materials. On May 6, 2017 he arrived at 8am. By 4pm, everything was done and my bathroom looks almost new again!
I am very pleased with the work he has done though you do have to be very clear about what you want. If you want him to haul away items after repair be sure to state so as it is not automatic. I rated the 4 stars because I did have to clean up behind him but I would definitely recommend him!!!
I already have another project line up for him.

Jeronimo said he was going to come over to view my garbage disposal before giving me a quote. Long story short, he ended up doing more than assessing. He messed with the electrical wiring on the garbage disposal without a quote. The motor was working just fine before he showed up and ripped the unit out, but he ended up telling me in broken English that the problem with the garbage disposal was a burned up wire he was showing me and the motor wasn't working anymore.
I'm no idiot when it comes to plumbing or electrical. My new wife and I had just returned back from our honeymoon and we weren't looking to do a bunch of house work and thought we'd splurge and pay for someone to do a little basic labor instead of doing it ourselves and now we're set back nearly $300.
It should also be pointed out that we arranged for 6pm, then he called early and asked if he could show up at 5pm. I was in Walnut Creek and said I could be available at 5:30pm. He showed up at 5:10pm and insisted to come up, so we didn't even have a chance to put away the cats or anything.
His English is very poor. May have been easier if I was more proficient in Spanish.
